aminando por calles y callejones sinuosos, entre paredes blancas y tejas grises, oigo el sonido de las ruedas rodando sobre el pavimento gris. Qi Yuan se yergue ante mí.” ----Sun Yuanliang En diciembre de 2023, el diseñador Sun Yuanliang trasladó su estudio a un pequeño patio, que también comenzó a utilizar como casa de vacaciones. Viviendo Juntos Este edificio residencial se encuentra en la zona histórica de Suzhou y fue adquirido por el diseñador Sun Yuanliang en junio de 2018. Se encuentra a solo 15 minutos a pie de los jardines más famosos de estilo Jiangnan, incluyendo el Jardín del Administrador Humilde, el Bosque de los Leones y el Museo de Suzhou, diseñado por I.M. alking through winding streets and alleys, tucked between the white walls and grey roof tiles, I can hear the sound of wheels rolling over grey paving stones. Qi Yuan stands before me.” ---- Sun Yuanliang In December 2023, designer Sun Yuanliang relocated his studio to a small courtyard, which he also began to use as a vacation home. Living Together This residential building is located in the ancient city area of Suzhou and was purchased by designer Sun Yuanliang in June 2018. It is just a 15-minute walk from the most famous Jiangnan-style gardens, including the Humble Administrator’s Garden, Lion Grove, and the Suzhou Museum designed by I.M. Pei. To the east lies the Pingjiang Road Historical District, which is a 2-kilometer walk to Suzhou Park. Unlike the bustling tourist area, this location is in a relatively quiet and ordinary residential neighborhood. Only the gentle sounds of conversation, barking dogs, and bicycle bells can be heard here in the background. The most striking aspect of the site is the view from the second-floor windows. From here, one can see the well-preserved roofs of the ancient buildings on the west side of Suzhou. The house is situated at a high point, providing a panoramic view. Vibrant city life intertwines with memories of the past, connecting different times and stories in a quiet way that nevertheless leaves a deep impression.
The house in the garden Seen from the entrance, the small courtyard resembles a miniature version of a typical Jiangnan Garden, with the Moon Cave Gate reflecting the lush plants surrounding it. Suzhou gardens are known for their emphasis on framing scenery; each door and window acts as a frame that allows plants to grow freely within the space. Designers aim for minimal intervention with this design approach. As guests venture deeper into the garden, they will discover a larger hidden courtyard at the end. During the initial stages of construction, the earth was gathered and used to form subtle gradations, and the water was diverted to create a pond. This carefully designed landscape exudes a rich natural ambiance. Different lights reflecting on the water’s surface infuse the area with various energies. A robust pine tree stands firmly against the wall amidst the surrounding rocks. The Dialogue Between the New and the Old The space’s concept is formed by the dialogue between the new and the old, which is intended to bridge the gap between architectural design and the people who occupy it. Individuals and spaces should ideally be interconnected, as designers aim to foster a sense of closeness and community among people within these environments. The design lines in this space are simple and functional, catering to contemporary living while emphasizing the pursuit of a quality lifestyle through classic furniture design. There
are no pronounced symbols of individual aggrandizement; instead, there is a sense of letting go of cultural baggage. In the face of nature, the individual feels themselves as part of something larger. All forms, colors, materials, and the interplay of light and shadow, which originate from nature, are interconnected and transform as they relate to the human spirit. a historia de los espárragos es una historia que seguramente te atraerá. A Los orígenes de los espárragos se remontan a más de 2000 años. Los espárragos trigueros crecían de forma silvestre en diferentes regiones de Eurasia: al este de la cuenca mediterránea y en Asia Menor. Los primeros documentos sobre el uso del espárrago como alimento provienen de los antiguos egipcios, quienes apreciaban esta planta por sus propiedades medicinales y nutricionales. Los antiguos griegos y romanos también conocían y cultivaban los espárragos. Los romanos, en particular, desarrollaron técnicas avanzadas para el cultivo y la conservación de esta hortaliza.
Plinio el Viejo, un conocido naturalista romano, escribió extensamente sobre los espárragos en su “Naturalis Historia”, describiendo las variedades cultivadas y los métodos de conservación para el invierno. Las principales entidades productoras son Sonora, Guanajuato, Baja California Sur y Baja California, estados que concentran 80.4 por ciento del volumen cosechado nacional que equivale a 287 mil toneladas.El resto de los estados donde también se cultivan espárragos son Querétaro, Michoacán, Coahuila, Sinaloa, Aguascalientes, Durango, Tlaxcala, Jalisco, San Luis Potosí, México e Hidalgo.La cosecha de este cultivo se desarrolla a lo largo del año, con picos de producción durante los meses de diciembre a abril; en estos cinco meses se obtiene más del 70 por ciento de la oferta disponible en el país.

En los súper europeos, los espárragos mexicanos y estamos hablando de España e Italia se ofrecen lo de 450 gr. A 100 pesos. En México a 129.- Que pena,Probablemente el envío es gratuito y los derechos de aduana corren a la carga exportadora. Para los pocos conocedores de los espárragos, me gustaría señalar que hay 3 tipos de espárragos. El espárrago verde debe su color al sol, mientras que el espárrago blanco se cultiva bajo tierra para evitar la exposición al sol. Son muy populares en Francia. Y por fin los espárragos morados que son menos comunes y tienen un alto contenido de antioxidantes.

he history of asparagus is sure to captivate you. The origins of asparagus date back more than 2,000 years. Wild asparagus grew wild in different regions of Eurasia: east of the Mediterranean basin and in Asia Minor. The first records of asparagus’s use as food come from the ancient Egyptians, who valued this plant for its medicinal and nutritional properties. The ancient Greeks and Romans also knew and cultivated asparagus. The Romans, in particular, developed advanced techniques for the cultivation and preservation of this vegetable.
Pliny the Elder, a renowned Roman naturalist, wrote extensively about asparagus in his “Naturalis Historia,” describing cultivated varieties and methods of winter preservation. Asparagus was considered a delicacy in the homes of Roman aristocrats. From my last name, you’ll discover that I’m originally from the Italian lands where asparagus abounds. However, to my surprise, I discovered that the world’s largest producer is China, which, with 6 million tons, represents around 88% of global production. Other major producers are Peru, Mexico, and Germany. Mexico is the world’s third-largest producer of asparagus. Thus, a significant volume of the vegetable produced worldwide originates in the country’s fields. E
n nuestra reciente visita a Guadalajara con motivo del 1er Torneo UTS Guadalajara, en D’CASA tuvimos la gran fortuna de coincidir con Mercedes y Xavier Aguilar, grandes amigos y empresarios. Con una magnífica hospitalidad, nos llevaron a descubrir delicias gastronómicas, pero donde realmente nos sorprendieron fue cuando Xavier decidió llevarnos a conocer Chapala desde el aire. Xavier es miembro del Aeroclub Chapala y piloto experimentado de aviones de dos plazas, también conocidos como ultraligeros. La verdad, Ana y yo no sabíamos exactamente qué esperar. De entrada, yo sufro de vértigo y mi plan era solo ver los aviones, captar el ambiente y tomar fotografías para mi artículo, sin la más mínima intención de subir. El Aeroclub Chapala es un club muy exclusivo y, por lo tanto, reducido. En él se respira un ambiente de tranquilidad, esa calma que la buena vida te da. Es un espacio familiar donde diferentes generaciones comparten la misma pasión: volar. Al ver la ligereza con la que se desplazan estos ultraligeros, el entusiasmo de los niños esperando su turno con emoción, y la naturalidad con la que padres y abuelos se dirigían a ellos como si fueran simplemente al estacionamiento a tomar su auto—solo que esta vez no era un coche, sino un increíble ultraligero—simplemente no había manera de negarse a volar. La primera en vivir la experiencia fue Ana Reyes. Mi intención inicial era tomar fotos de la producción, pero en realidad lo hice por temor: prefería ver cómo era la experiencia a través de otra persona antes de decidir subir . Como no podían faltar las fotos del recuerdo, posaron felices antes del despegue. A su regreso, Ana exclamó emocionada:
—¡Increíble, lo mejor que me ha pasado! ¡Qué maravilla! Me llegó el turno. Mientras me colocaba el traje de vuelo, repetía en mi mente: “No te vas a espantar, no tengas miedo”. Y lo mejor es que así fue. Decidí llevarme el celular para capturar fotos y grabar en video la gran vivencia que estaba por experimentar. Al principio, la sensación es como ir en una motoneta de tres ruedas: se siente ligero, ágil. El despegue fue simplemente fabuloso; ni siquiera noté el momento en que el ultraligero dejó la tierra. Al principio, no me atrevía a mirar hacia abajo, pero Xavier comenzó a mostrarme desde el aire el majestuoso paisaje de Chapala, el hogar del lago más grande de México, con una extensión de 80 km de largo por 20 km de ancho. Chapala es un paraíso con una historia única, rodeado de pueblos mágicos como Ajijic, Jocotepec, Ocotlán, San Luis Soyatlán, Tuxcueca, así como Mezcala y su inigualable Isla de Mezcala, también conocida como la Isla del Presidio, pues en el siglo XIX funcionó como tal. La región es famosa mundialmente por su clima excepcional, lo que ha dado lugar a la comunidad de retirados estadounidenses más grande fuera de EE.UU. Esto ha convertido a Chapala en un destino bohemio, lleno de restaurantes, bares y cenadurías, que hacen las delicias de residentes y visitantes. Desde el aire, también pudimos ver el Aereoclub de Chapala,
donde despegamos, un sitio ideal para practicar vuelos en ultraligeros y aviones monomotores. Es el lugar perfecto para hacer realidad el sueño de Ícaro: volar y disfrutar de paisajes increíbles. Xavier me señalaba lugares icónicos como El Manglar, la casa de verano de Porfirio Díaz, el Club de Yates de Chapala, y por supuesto, el infinito e imponente lago, rodeado de naturaleza majestuosa acompañada de los pelicanos borregones El regreso al Aereoclub de Chapala fue aún mejor. Ya con tranquilidad en mi corazón, pude disfrutar plenamente del vuelo, fluir con el movimiento del aire y admirar la destreza de mi gran piloto. El aterrizaje fue como la última nota de una melodía perfecta, dejándome con ganas de volver a volar. Al bajar, nos esperaban deliciosas botanas de la región. Y para cerrar con broche de oro, disfrutamos, en el tradicional Club de Yates , los inolvidables charales fritos y unas exquisitos tacos de hueva de pescado, conocidas como el caviar de Chapala. Además, la intensa vida marítima del lago permite practicar deportes náuticos como el esquí acuático y la vela, con campeones mundiales entrenando en sus aguas. Mi mejor recomendación: ¡Si pueden, conozcan Chapala desde el aire!

O
n our recent visit to Guadalajara for the 1st UTS Guadalajara Tournament, we at D’CASA had the great fortune of meeting with Mercedes and Xavier Aguilar, dear friends and entrepreneurs. With their wonderful hospitality, they took us to discover amazing gastronomic delights, but what truly surprised us was when Xavier decided to take us to experience Chapala from the air. Xavier is a member of the Chapala Aeroclub and an experienced pilot of two-seater aircraft, also known as ultralight planes. Honestly, Ana and I didn’t know exactly what to expect. For starters, I suffer from vertigo, and my plan was simply to see the planes, soak in the atmosphere, and take photos for my article—without any intention of flying. The Chapala Aeroclub is a very exclusive and, therefore, small club. A sense of tranquility fills the air, the kind that only a good life can offer. It is a family-friendly space where different generations share the same passion: flying. Seeing how effortlessly these ultralight planes moved, the enthusiasm of children eagerly awaiting their turn, and the way parents and grandparents approached them as if they were simply heading to the parking lot to grab their car—only this time, instead of a car, it was an incredible ultralight plane—made it impossible to refuse the opportunity to fly. The first to experience the adventure was Ana Reyes. My initial plan was to take photos of the production, but in reality, I hesitated out of fear—I preferred to see what the experience was like through someone else before deciding to go myself. Of course, no trip is complete without souvenir photos, so they posed happily before takeoff. When Ana returned, she exclaimed excitedly:
—“Incredible, the best experience I’ve ever had! What a wonder!” Then, it was my turn. As I put on the flight suit, I kept repeating to myself: “Don’t get scared, don’t be afraid.” And thankfully, that’s exactly how it went. I decided to take my phone with me to capture photos and videos of the incredible experience ahead. At first, the sensation is like riding a three-wheeled scooter: light and agile. Takeoff was simply amazing—I didn’t even notice the moment the ultralight left the ground. Initially, I didn’t dare to look down, but Xavier started pointing out the majestic landscape of Chapala, home to Mexico’s largest lake, stretching 80 km long and 20 km wide. Chapala is a paradise with a unique history, surrounded by charming towns such as Ajijic, Jocotepec, Ocotlán, San Luis Soyatlán, and Tuxcueca, as well as Mezcala and its unparalleled Isla de Mezcala, also known as Presidio Island since it once served as a prison in the 19th century. The region is world-renowned for its exceptional climate, attracting the largest community of retired Americans outside the U.S. This has turned Chapala into a bohemian destination, full of restaurants, bars, and traditional eateries, offering unforgettable experiences for both locals and visitors. From the air, we also saw the Chapala Aeroclub, where we had taken off—a perfect place to practice flights in ultralight
planes and single-engine aircraft. It is the ideal spot to fulfill the dream of Icarus: soaring high and enjoying breathtaking landscapes. Xavier pointed out iconic places such as El Manglar, former summer house of Porfirio Díaz, the Chapala Yacht Club, and of course, the infinite and majestic lake, surrounded by lush nature and accompanied by the famous borregón pelicans. The return to the Chapala Aeroclub was even better. With a newfound sense of calm in my heart, I was able to fully enjoy the flight, flow with the movement of the air, and admire my skilled pilot’s expertise. Landing was like the final note of a perfect melody, leaving me eager to fly again. Upon landing, a delicious spread of regional snacks awaited us. And to end on a high note, we indulged in unforgettable fried charales and exquisite fish roe tacos, known as the caviar of Chapala, at the traditional Yacht Club. Additionally, the vibrant maritime life of the lake allows for water sports such as water skiing and sailing, with world champions training in its waters. My best recommendation: If you have the chance, experience Chapala from the air!

arco destructor Juan EscutiaCorría el año de 1998, principios de 1999, el entonces presidente de la república Dr. Ernesto Zedillo Ponce de León ) el mejor presidente que a tenido este país )se había aficionado al maravilloso deporte del buceo y después de muchas inmersiones realizadas, vio con sus propios ojos que los arrecifes estaban sufriendo un gran desgaste, en una plática informal que tuvimos le platique la idea que se había llevado a cabo en la ciudad de La Paz en donde habían sumergido 2 barcos cargueros, con la finalidad de crear un arrecife artificial. Poco tiempo después se sumergió otro en Acapulco. El Caribe mexicano no se podía quedar atrás, así que le pidió a la secretaria de Marina Armada de México, donara 5 barcos que se encontraban el Tampico listos para ser deshuesados. Los dos primeros se hundieron en Cancún, el siguiente fue en Cozumel, el cuarto en Puerto Morelos y el quinto en Veracruz En casi todos fabricados en el vecino país de los Estados Unidos de Norteamérica, ellos los usaron como dragaminas, aquí los renombraron como Cañoneros y le pusieron el nombre de algún héroe mexicano, de ahí que se les conozca como Cañonero
De que voy a hacer mención es del cañonero que se encuentra sumergido muy cerca de Puerto Morelos, el cañonero 56 Juan Escutia o simplemente C 56. Lo trajeron remolcando del puerto de Tampico, y después de una limpieza profunda, retirar cualquier contamínate, remover los cables que estuvieran colgando, realizar una serie de huecos o ventanas para que circulara la corriente y entrara la luz a la vez tener más seguridad para los buceadores. Después de una minuciosa inspección por parte de elementos de la secretaria de Marina Armada de México, biólogos del parque marino, la comunidad de investigadores y de la misma población civil, el 28 de octubre del año 2000, el gigante de acero fue sumergido a una profundidad de 30 metros y se depositó sobre una cama de arena El día del evento se reunió mucha gente que vinieron a ser testigos del increíble suceso. Un testigo muy importante fue el Dr. Juan Ramon de la Fuente, cuando aún era rector de la Universidad Autónoma de México) UNAM ) Con el tiempo, este pecio se ha vuelto muy popular en la región, pues ahora da albergue a un sinfín de peces de varias especies, de sus costados cuelgan esponjas y abanicos de coral. Pero lo que más gusta es una gran escuela de las llamativas damas de los océanos o rayas águilas que con su volar silencioso hacen del buceo un deleite

I
n 1998, early 1999, the then president of the republic, Dr. Ernesto Zedillo Ponce de León (the best president this country has ever had), had become fond of the wonderful sport of diving. After many dives, he saw with his own eyes that the reefs were suffering great wear and tear. In an informal conversation we had, I told him about the idea that had been carried out in the city of La Paz, where two cargo ships had been sunk with the aim of creating an artificial reef. Shortly after, another one was submerged in Acapulco. The Mexican Caribbean couldn’t be left behind, so he asked the Mexican Navy to donate five ships that were in Tampico, ready to be deboned. The first two sank in Cancún, the next in Cozumel, the fourth in Puerto Morelos, and the fifth in Veracruz. Almost all of them, built in the neighboring United States, were used as minesweepers. Here, they were renamed Gunboats and named after a Mexican hero, hence their nickname, Cañonero.
What I’m going to mention is the gunboat submerged very close to Puerto Morelos, the gunboat 56 Juan Escutia, or simply C 56. It was brought in by tow from the port of Tampico, and after a thorough cleaning, it removed any contaminants, removed any dangling cables, and made a series of holes or windows to allow current and light to circulate, while also ensuring greater safety for the divers. After a thorough inspection by members of the Mexican Navy, marine park biologists, the research community, and the civilian population, on October 28, 2000, the steel giant was submerged to a depth of 30 meters and settled on a bed of sand. On the day of the event, many people gathered to witness the incredible event. One very important witness was Dr. Juan Ramón de la Fuente, who was still rector of the Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM). Over time, this wreck has become very popular in the region, as it now provides shelter to countless fish of various species, and sponges and coral fans hang from its sides. But
what I love most is a large school of striking ocean eagle rays, whose silent flight makes diving a delight. That was the story I experienced: from the birth of a ship built for war to now, from the depths of the sea, fighting the great battle for the conservation of our seas. The factors considered are: social support, GDP per capita, healthy life expectancy, freedom, generosity and perceptions of corruption. On which rung of the ladder do you personally sit right now?” In recent years, Mexico has improved its position in the World Happiness Report. ay algo casi mágico (y un poco frustrante) en la moda: justo cuando pensabas que jamás volverías a usar esos jeans de tiro bajo, ¡boom!, ahí están de regreso, más atrevidos que nunca. Y lo más curioso es que, aunque los criticaste hace años, ahora no puedes evitar pensar: “¿Y si esta vez sí me quedan bien?”. Desde hace décadas, los diseñadores encuentran inspiración en épocas pasadas, reinventando prendas icónicas con un toque moderno. Las hombreras, que en los ochenta simbolizaban poder y presencia, volvieron recientemente con cortes más estilizados y femeninos. Los pantalones acampanados, después de reinar en los setenta y caer en el olvido, ahora se mezclan con blusas ceñidas para lograr un estilo boho chic irresistible. Y claro, no podemos olvidar el regreso triunfal de los corsés, que pasaron de ser símbolo de opresión a un statement de empoderamiento.
Y qué decir de los estampados: el animal print, que en los noventa causaba sensación y después fue visto como un exceso de estilo, resurgió con elegancia en chaquetas, bolsos y hasta botas. ¿O qué tal los conjuntos de mezclilla que Britney y Justin hicieron icónicos en los 2000? Ahora vuelven renovados, combinando tonos claros y oscuros para darles un aire más sofisticado. here’s something almost magical (and a little frustrating) about fashion: just when you swore you’d never wear those low-rise jeans again—boom!— they’re back, bolder than ever. And the funniest part? Even though you criticized them years ago, now you can’t help but think, “What if they actually look good this time?” For decades, designers have found inspiration in past eras, reinventing iconic pieces with a modern twist. Take shoulder pads: in the ’80s, they symbolized power and presence, and now they’re back, but with sleeker and more feminine cuts.
