DEGREES AT NCTC ASSOCIATES ASSOCIATE OF APPLIED SCIENCE ASSOCIATE OF ARTS/SCIENCES ASSOCIATE OF ARTS IN TEACHING An Associate Degree is an undergraduate degree that typically takes two years to complete, when enrolled full-time, and includes academic classes.
CERTIFICATES Certificate program will range from 15-51 semester credit hours. These programs normally do not contain academic classes and prepare you to enter the workforce directly after graduation. Many certificates will transfer to a degree program if you decide to continue your academic journey.
AWARDS Occupational Skills Awards (OSA) consist of a sequence of workforce education courses and may be credit (9-14 semester credit hour) or non-credit (144-359 contact hours).An Occupational Skills Award provides training for high demand occupations in a short period of time.
CAREER TRAINING
Entry-Level Career Training is offered through the Continuing Education Department, these entry-level, short-term career training programs are made up of non-credit courses and generally take less than a semester to complete. These programs prepare you for entry into a new career as quickly as possible.

SURGICAL TECHNOLOGY PROGRAM The Surgical Technologist program at North Central Texas College prepares students to become Certified Surgical Technologists through a CAAHEP-accredited program with national certification through NBSTSA. Students gain hands-on training in sterile technique, surgical procedures, instrumentation, OR preparation, and patient care through classroom, lab, and clinical experiences. Graduates are prepared to work alongside surgeons, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.

AVIATION MAINTENANCE PROGRAM NCTC is proud to partner with U.S. Aviation Academy LLC of Denton to provide students with the technical training needed for a career as an Aviation Maintenance Technician. Students gain a strong foundation in Airframe and Power Plant maintenance while preparing for FAA licensing, then transition to NCTC to complete an Associate of Applied Science degree for career advancement and continued education opportunities. COMMERCIAL DRIVER'S LICENSE TRAINING Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) training prepares students to operate large or heavy vehicles, such as semi trucks, concrete mixer trucks, dump trucks, and more. Because driving a Commercial Motor Vehicle requires advanced knowledge and skills, students must pass both written and skills tests. The program includes classroom and behind-the-wheel training. COMING SPRING 2027 The Gainesville campus is preparing to welcome the new Clark Residence Hall, named in honor of the college’s founder, Randolph Lee Clark. This three-story, 54,000-square-foot residence hall will accommodate up to 150 students and provide a modern, vibrant living experience. The facility will include two Resident Life Coordinator suites and three student lounge areas, creating a comfortable, supportive, and engaging environment where students can live, learn, and build community.
