TCWCC Zine

Page 1

Dear Reader,

What you have in your hands is a bona fide zine created by some of the rad participants at the TCWCC Conference at Metro Community College in its third iteration, fall of 2025. All are teachers of Creative Writing and Composition classes among other roles and fancies.

As part of a session, each creative individual was challenged to use a Sharpie and a piece of cardstock to make a page for this very zine answering the prompt:

What is something that you could do in Creative Writing that’s normally in Composition and/or what is something that you could do in Composition that you normally do in Creative Writing?

And, they did just that. Inside these pages, you will find suggestions on how to make creative choices in your classes, or your life should you not be a teacher of writing. Allow yourself to read and experience the zine with an open mind. Apply the lessons and take each challenge to heart. It was created with love, exhausted and inspired and connective and fearless love.

The cover image was borrowed from the website of Peter Deligdisch. He’s really cool, and I like his drawings. This one has a nice balance of elements that delightfully clash. Sometimes it feels as if creative ideas in a comp class or vice versa clash as well. Let the cover and the contents within be a reminder that juxtaposition is a fun way to think and grow. Here is his site. (https://www.peterdraws.com/)

Thank you for being you. Love,

Your friends who meet up in Omaha every once in a while, (2025) P.S. Don’t forget to make stuff that is fun and share it with others.
