Valley Regional Using AI in the Classroom By Christian Maldonado Staff Writer
The popularity and importance of artificial intelligence has grown exponentially over the past few years, with more and more people realizing and coming to terms with the fact that it is here to stay, and it is not going away. Valley Regional High School is no
stranger to this trend, and the staff and students are now finding ways to use AI to benefit their learning. Denise Dalton, the library media specialist at Valley, has been the real point-person when it comes to using AI in the school, taking the lead when it comes to how the school can use it most effectively. Dalton says that while it has many different uses and ways
that it can positively affect students and their work, it is important to recognize its limitations. “It is not perfect, and it cannot replace what we do as teachers and educators,” she said. “We also have to realize that it is not something that is just going to go away any See Valley Regional page 6
Chugging Along Artist Steve Cryan readies his model train display for the day on Dec. 18 at the Connecticut River Museum in Essex. The exhibition, which runs Nov. 21 through Feb. 1, is a holiday tradition at the museum, with Cryan creating a new design each year. The display is viewable during the museum's regular hours, Tuesday through Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
