Town Swears In New Emergency Management Team By Christian Maldonado Staff Writer DEEP RIVER

The town has officially sworn in Cynthia Torres as its new Emergency Management Director, with assistant Courtney Huntington taking her oath of office during the Board of Selectmen meeting on April 22.

Though the role is new to Torres, she brings local government experience, having served on Deep River’s Board of Finance for the past six years. Huntington, a town resident for over a decade, expressed enthusiasm about the new role and the opportunity to support emergency preparedness in the community.

“I am very much looking forward to the new challenges that have been put in front of me,” Huntington said. “I’m just ready to get to work in this new position.” First Selectwoman Carol Doak-Jones praised both appointees. See Town Swears page 10
