Public Hearing Jan. 8 for Madison Affordable Housing Plan By Aaron Rubin Staff Writer
The Madison Planning and Zoning Commission has scheduled a public hearing on Jan. 8 for an application that plans to establish affordable housing units at 142 Boston Post Road. Abutting the Shore Line East train line,
the structure currently standing at the parcel is a 1,222-square-foot, mixed-use building which contains the Shoreline Learning tutoring center on the first floor and a rented apartment space on the second floor. The applicant, 142 Boston Post Road, LLC, is looking to construct a new 4,350-square-foot, two-story building with eight one-bedroom residential units. The application is filed
under Connecticut State Statute 8-30g to allow for the affordable units to be a part of the project. Of the nine total units that would be created at the property, three of them would be deed-restricted affordable housing. According to Town Planner Erin Mannix, two of the
