Connelly Challenges Parker in 101st District Race By Aaron Rubin Staff Writer

Madison resident Mary Ann Connelly has announced her candidacy to represent the 101st District in the Connecticut House of Representatives. Connelly, who currently serves on the Madison Board of Education, is the Republican challenger to the district’s

Democratic incumbent, John-Michael Parker, who confirmed to The Source his intention to seek re-election to a fourth term. Connelly announced her candidacy April 18 while standing on the steps of Memorial Town Hall, surrounded by about 30 supporters and several American flags. She explained why she decided to run and spoke about representing Madison in Hartford.

“After living here in Madison for the past 30 years, I’ve seen firsthand how our community has changed—the good, the challenges—and I believe we can do better, together,” said Connelly. “District 101 is more than a place on a map.
