Westbrook may be a small town, but 2025 sure was an interesting year. From exciting development proposals to controversial court rulings, and an election, Westbrook had a series of changes over 2025. The highlights are below:

After 50 years of operation, the Valley Shore Animal Welfare League officially merges with the Bristol-based Army’s Legacy Animal Rescue and Sanctuary In a bid to better serve the animals and people of the Westbrook community, the new organization begins extensive renovations on the headquarters property at 647 Horse Hill Road in Westbrook.
The Coastal Resiliency Committee of Clinton, Westbrook, and Old Saybrook holds presentations in all three towns from Feb. 24 to Feb. 26 to share the results of a regional Coastal Resiliency Plan, which recommends projects to combat rising sea levels in the area.
