Dems Dominate Elections, Committees Analyze Results

Large voter turnout in this year’s local elections saw decisive victory for both the Guilford Democrats and the Independent party. The Democratic candidate for first selectman, Matt Hoey, was reelected, and members from both parties now completely occupy seats on two of the town’s most conse-

quential boards in finance and education.

Guilford voters reelected the incumbent Hoey for a fifth term. He defeated Republican challenger Jonathan Trotta by a wide margin, 5,318-2,028.

Voter turnout in Guilford on Election Day this year was over 45%, according to numbers from the Registrar of Voters. Out of 16,322 registered voters, 7,440 ballots were cast. This is a great jump from the previous

municipal election in 2023, according to the Town Clerk’s office, which saw a voter turnout rate of 21%.

“I’m thrilled with the outcome of today’s election, with the overall support for myself and Democratic candidates,” Hoey said in a statement. “This is an affirmation that we’ve been doing for the last eight years and even

Kim Gallagher: The Sound of Music

On Monday and Thursday mornings, Kim Gallagher plays in the New Horizons Band at the Community Music School (CMS) in Essex. On Monday night, she plays in the Old Lyme Town Band, and Tuesday night finds her at rehearsals of the New London Community Orchestra.

Not only does she have to keep the rehearsals straight, she has to remember whether she is going to play the clarinet or the saxophone, and whether that will be a tenor or an alto sax.

For the holiday season performances of the Old Lyme Town Band, Kim will be playing tenor sax, a larger instrument with a lower register than the alto.

Members of the group come from all across the Shoreline, from towns ranging from Guilford to Niantic.

The band is giving its annual holiday concert at The Katharine

of the Week Hepburn Cultural Arts Center in Old Saybrook on Wednesday, Dec. 17, a special performance to culminate its 50th anniversary.

The band was formed to celebrate America’s bicentennial in 1976.

The group is one of the very few amateur musical groups that pays annually at The Kate.

On this year’s program are seasonal favorites like Greensleeves, O Come, All Ye Faithful, Leroy Anderson’s well known Sleigh Ride, and Shalom from the Broadway production of Milk and Honey. Tickets for the concert are available through The Kate’s box office.

Playing in the musical groups for Kim is about more than the music. It is about the people. “You

make new friends; fantastic people and the sounds all blend together. Lovely music,” she says.

The New Horizons band at CMS in which Kim plays clarinet on Mondays and alto saxophone on Thursdays is part of a national organization devoted to providing musical opportunities for older instrumentalists who may have played in their youth or who finally have time to learn how to play an instrument they long thought about.

The clarinet, the instrument her father had played, was Kim’s first instrument. She started lessons in seventh grade and played in her first band in eighth grade.

She couldn’t start earlier because the family moved regularly to accommodate her father’s job as a mining engineer.

Kim bought her first saxophone some 30 years ago. “I thought saxes were cool and I really liked the sound they See Kim Gallagher page 7

Trotta congratulated Hoey on his reelection, saying that “despite our political differences I respect his hard work, impressive history of public service, and dedication to our town.”

Despite having lost the race for first selectman, Trotta will nonetheless serve on the Board of Selectmen, having received more votes than several other candidates for the executive town board.

Trotta will be one of two Republican electees on the board, which will consist of a 3-2 Democrat majority for the next four years.

Tim Donlan, Vice Chair of the Guilford Republican Town Committee, said Trotta’s ultimate election to the Board of Selectmen was surprising but a “great win” for the committee’s constituents now that two Republican voices will be heard in major town issues Both Hoey and Trotta told the Guilford Courier they look forward to working with each other on the board.

Considering his new role, Trotta reaffirmed his staunch stance on fiscal responsibility, saying that he will “continue to be a watchdog for Guilford taxpayers and will voice my concerns and vote accordingly if I believe tax dollars are not being spent wisely.”

Trotta added that he will continue to work to restore ideological balance to boards and commissions and give voice to “the 2nd largest voting block in Guilford,” the Republican faction that does not have a single seat on the Board of Education or Board of Finance.

Most of the seats on both boards will be occupied by Democrats. Tara Melvin, Chair of the Democratic Town Committee, characterized these victories - as well as Hoey’s - as the result of running a positive campaign that put forward candidates who understand the needs of all residents and share their values.

“I think it came down to trust and connection,” said Melvin. “We kept our message positive, emphasizing collaboration and community pride, things that make Guilford a special place to live. I’m proud of what we’ve accomplished and excited to keep building on that strong, connected community.... It’s what we hope to keep building on as we move forward.”

Donlan belived it was “name recognition” that was the main reason for the Democratic and Independent sweep. It

could explain Donlan’s loss for a seat on the Board of Finance, having run for the board for the first time this year.

“And the Democrats,” Donlan added, “their voters came out. Ours didn’t, for some reason.”

While Democrats will make up the majority of seats on the education and finance boards, electees of the Independent Party will occupy the remaining seats.

Independent Party chair Micahel Mikolay said these victories signify “the alternative to Guilford” its candidates had to offer without being “defined by a national platform.”

“I think what’s resonating is that there’s a lot of folks that are moderate or in the middle or unaffiliated,” said Mikolay.

“We’re not trying to take credit for them.

We’re trying to offer an alternative and do so with people that are wanting to give back to their town, but don’t want to have to go through being labeled as a certain sort of major party.”

The Independent Party saw the loss of Charles Havrda for another term on the Board of Selectmen, whose seat will be replaced by Trotta. While that race “didn’t go the way that we wanted,” admitted Mikolay, “if you look historically, it’s actually an amazing showing” for a minority party to see their candidate still receive more than 1,500 votes.

“People understood the need to split their votes and vote Independent,” said Mikolay.

Nonetheless, new electees and reelected incumbents on the education and finance boards will continue “to do the work of being focused on what are the needs of Guilford,” said Mikolay, which may begin with offering a different opinion that is strictly tied to the needs of Guilford and not pertaining to a “national scale or playbook” on policy.

In the past, the Independent Party has been criticized for being an offshoot of the Guilford Democrats and ultimately running a fusion campaign with them this year.

Trotta told the Guilford Courier that “this coalition circumvents the minority rules and suppress(es) the voices of the 2nd largest voting block in Guilford.”

“The Democrat Party ... fusing with the Guilford Independent Party to take the remainder of the seats goes against the spirit of the minority rules and leaves our boards and commissions in an unbalanced state,” he said.

Obituary

David Riley Wright Guilford David Riley Wright, 85, of Guilford, passed away on his terms, remaining home with family until he could no longer be with us.

Born in Jefferson, Kentucky, in 1940 and raised in Clarksville, Tennessee, David lived the past 25 years in Guilford, where he built a life filled with love, adventure, and family.

David won a scholarship to attend the University of Tennessee, but after a brief time as a Volunteer, he received an appointment to the U.S. Naval Academy — an opportunity that would define his future as an aviator. As a Navy Lieutenant, David served during the Vietnam War, flying missions to locate Russian submarines.

Following his military service, he transitioned to civilian aviation as a helicopter pilot, where his skill, precision, and dedication earned him wide respect.

David spent most of his professional career at Sikorsky Aircraft, where he worked as a flight test engineer advancing new technologies and ultimately retired as Chief Test Pilot of the S-76 program. His contributions to aviation were remarkable; In February 1982, David set three world records with the Fédération Aéronautique Internationale — one record still stands today.

While in Connecticut, David met the love of his life, Diane, and together they shared 35 wonderful years. United by their mutual love of travel, art, and

adventure, they built a life filled with exploration and laughter, traveling the world both for work and for joy. Their time in Australia sparked a love of Aboriginal art and culture bringing them back to Australia over the years.

David is survived by his beloved wife, Diane Wright of Guilford; his daughters, Karen Ela (Craig) of S. Harpswell, Maine and Leslie McPherson (Chris) of Palm City, Florida; and his stepchildren, Heather Mackenzie (Jean Bachman) of Madison, Alan Mackenzie (Mrinmoi Borgohain) of Malmö, Sweden, and Alexander Mackenzie of Grand Rapids, Texas. He was a proud grandfather to Kylie, Steven, Christopher, and Colin McPherson, and Ainsley and Claire Mackenzie.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the Guilford first responders who supported David and Diane over the past two years, helping him remain at home while he faced the challenges of Parkinson’s disease with courage and grace.

David will be remembered for his brilliance in the skies, his quiet strength, and his unwavering love for family.

Family and friends were invited to visitation hours from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Nov. 8, at the Guilford Funeral Home.

GriefShare Meetings Continue Through December GriefShare is a weekly faith-based bereavement support group that offers help, encouragement, and support after the death of a spouse, child, other family member, or friend. Sponsored by Christ Chapel of Madison, this support group meets on Sundays from noon to 2 p.m. The regular GriefShare cycle began in early September and runs through early December. Each lesson can stand alone, so participants can attend any week. The weekly format includes supportive discussion about video content and a journaling workbook reinforcing each week’s topics. The workbook will be available to purchase at the meetings for a one-time fee of $20. All are welcome.

Kim Gallagher: The Sound of Music Throughout the Region Continued from page 2 made,” she says. But she didn’t really begin to practice for the musical groups she now plays in until last November.

Kim graduated from high school a year early at 16 and went on to the University of Alabama. Her roots were southern, and given her youth, her parents wanted her to be near family.

Kim was a walk-on for Alabama’s noted marching band and also played in its symphonic band. She can’t remember what she played or how well she played it. She recalls there were over 50 clarinets in the band, and out on the football field if one person made a mistake, it was not really detectable.

After graduating from college with a degree in biology and chemistry, Kim earned her master’s degree in chemistry at Clemson University and then decided, she would try the business world.

She worked as a chemist first for a company in South Carolina and then for General Electric. After several moves within GE, she ended up in Connecticut, now a mother with two children.

She stayed home while the children were small but ultimately decided to return to her professional career, but with a difference. “I reinvented myself,” she says. The reinvention meant she went back to school, this time to qualify as a high school teacher through the state’s Alternate Route to Certification She taught biology, advanced biology, and AP biology at Nathan Hale-Ray High School in East Haddam, and then, biology, chemistry, and environmental field biology at Old Saybrook High School. The field biology included projects like water testing outside the classroom.

“I was shifting to water stuff,” Kim explains. She worked part-time as an instructor on the boat that hosts Project

Oceanology in New London, and also volunteered with beluga whales at the Mystic Aquarium. The job included preparing the whales’ food, feeding them from the pails of fish, and, necessarily but not glamorously, scooping their droppings out of the water.

Ultimately, Kim decided to go back to school for oceanography, earning her doctorate at the University of Connecticut, Avery Point.

Kim’s studies were not the problem; what followed was. She was the oldest graduate in the program. She was told that in her fifties, she would never find a permanent job. “That was right,” she says.

After a post-doctoral year at the University of California at Irvine, she found a number of adjunct positions, but never full faculty status or benefits. She describes the professional situation as “the murky world of an adjunct professor.”

Her last position was at Quinnipiac University where she taught freshman

chemistry. She liked her students, she liked teaching, but trying to teach a laboratory science course electronically through virtual labs during Covid was, as she describes it, “a nightmare.”

Now retired, Kim is a golfer, and a grandmother with ambitions to bring music to another generation of her family.

She has just bought a digital piano and invested in lessons for her six-year-old granddaughter. “I want her to come to concerts too, to know how people make music,” she says. b

Dems Dominate Elections, Committees Analyze Results Continued from page 4 Mikolay said he wanted to be “crystal clear that we are not an offshoot” of the Democrats, and the Independent Party’s platform is one defined by candidates from both sides of the aisle who present an option for voters “that are looking for avenues that are beyond the two parties.”

To ensure Republican victories in future elections, Donlan said it is important that committee members are visible at board meetings and demonstrate more interest in the issues. The committee has already considered reaching out to prospective candidates for the Board of Education.

Donlan said there is “potential down the road” for the Republican committee.

“I feel very positive about the future for the Republican Town Committee and the Town of Guilford in general,” he said. “I think we’re in a good place, and we’re heading in the right direction. I think it was a good learning [experience] for us, and I’m looking forward to future elections.”

Candidates must have completed two or more years of undergraduate work in an accredited institution with a 3.0 average or higher toward a bachelor’s or post-graduate degree. Key Points to Remember When Togging Fishing report

Fall is digging in, and as tautog season moves along - past the time of the autumnal equinox, ending of Daylight Saving Time, and a renewed yearning of spiced pumpkin pie and apple cinnamon bread - our senses probe the new season. To a blackfish, things are different.

Where we enlist our main senses - smell, touch, hearing, taste, sight - to perceive our surroundings, what a togger may not be aware of is that togs rely mostly on their ability to see.

They have very keen eyesight, which can be considered their most sophisticated or important sensory organ for finding food.

Their color vision is at least as good as a human’s, and large lenses enable them to maximize available light. Blackfish are opportunistic daytime sight feeders that primarily hunt in and around rocky areas, jetties, and wrecks. They use their vision to locate and pick prey, such as crabs, clams, and mussels, from bottom structure.

For the most part, blackfish are inactive and dormant at night suggesting to fishers that these fish do not feed when visibility is low. Therefore, being aware of bottom structure color or prey that may either blend in or stand out during varying degrees of water clarity is important. Surprisingly for a bottom fish, they do not have a superior sense of smell. Studies have shown that visually feeding fish, like tautog, lose weight or grow poorly in lowlight conditions - e.g. under docks, landings, piers, and wharves.

Their second, and perhaps most complex, sensory system is their lateral line. It consists of a series of fluid-filled canals with sophisticated sensory cells called neuromasts. It is extremely sensitive to low frequency vibrations, water movement, and changes in pressure caused by nearby objects, prey, or predators, like harbor seals. This crucial sense is important for feeding and sur-

While blackfish have other well developed senses, their vision and lateral line system are generally considered the most advanced and critically sensory organs for hunting effectively and navigating their underwater habitat.

Keeping this in the forefront when you are togging can only improve catches. A clue is that a lift in the fishing line as opposed to the normal tap or tug can indicate fish are sight feeding. Claws off, lines down, look natural! b

On The Water High pressure remained in control until a quick moving low moved through. Unsettled weather, consisting of high wind advisories, cold air temperatures, and more fall-like weather, blanketed the area before high pressure returned. A Canadian low brought through a cold front before high pressure pushed it aside. Daytime air temperatures were stuck in the 50s, climbing throughout the range to as high as 63 degrees, while pre-dawn temperatures had a low of 31 degrees to a high of 48 degrees.

Skies were a mix of sun and clouds with a dash of rain, as sundrenched foliage continued to be blown around. Long Island Sound conditions caused gale warnings to be flown, as winds topped 50 knots, seas reached nine feet, and water temperatures logged 53 to 56 degrees before calm prevailed.

The usual weather conditions that coincided with clocks being kicked back an hour materialized. Circulating north/northwest to south/southwest winds made for difficult togging whether aboard a vessel or being blasted with onshore salt spray. During those days, many blackfish that had previously been caught in

Still, short fish were prevalent, and most togs caught were in the three to five-pound range with the outliers being shy of double-digits. In the end, it was the rough seas, churned up water, and drop in water temperatures (although still warm by all standards) that altered plans.

Striped bass battled water conditions as much as fishers did, but as boat anglers took on deeper waters, catches of cow bass increased. Most caught took calorie-filled baits either whole, chunked, or live, while others feeding by rips and deep bottom structure favored diamond jigs, bucktails, and swimming plugs. There was a series of focused activity to be found in lower tidal rivers during periods of incoming tides and particularly during the full Super Moon phase. Schoolie stripers fought to take small topwater plugs, swimmers, and soft plastics. Action was steady, but in many cases, short-lived. The feeding spree was generated by hickory shad and peanut bunker.

To top it off, stripers to 43” did take live eels and plugs in those same rivers but mostly by sluiceways and intercepting creeks as the tide ebbed.

Toggers were dealt obstacles at almost every turn. Winds hit them from south, southwest, and the north which was not too bad when attempting to fish near shore. Farther out than that and without spotlock, holding on top of a productive spot was almost an exercise in futility. Deep depths (excess of 75 feet) increased the odds of hooking into a double-digit whitechin. Some of the shallower, near-shore boulder fields thinned out, as togs in the three to five-pound range migrated deeper. As calmer weather returned, what were the normal spot magnets livened up, but generally, there is a transi-

tional movement into deeper water underway. Tog jigs and rigs tipped with crab or crab parts have been top producers, backed up by clams. Action will continue through Friday, Nov. 28 (one day after Thanksgiving) - weather permitting.

If fishers are looking for more slab porgies and black sea bass for the freezer, they should fish the deep reefs and rock piles of the Sound. Fishing with jigs and rigs using clams and squid is recommended to harvest the best catch of the tide.

Personal Bests (PBs) are still being caught when angling inland waters - a great time to be on a river, lake, or pond. It is even more rewarding when hooking into a PB as the sun drenches the fall foliage highlighting the golden dorsal fin of a largemouth or the rich colors of a yellow perch or sunfish. Madison Hoop Dreams to Hold Black Friday Basketball Camp

The day after Thanksgiving, Black Friday, is one of the most popular basketball day camps offered by Madison Hoop Dreams (MHD). Players can burn off the extra calories consumed on Thanksgiving, and parents get to take advantage of the Black Friday shopping bargains for Christmas or just relax. With recreation and travel teams underway, players get a full day of instruction and competition to sharpen their skills. MHD draws from 15 towns which increases the level of competition and fun. If teammates register, MHD will try to keep them together. However, sometimes trades are necessary to keep the games competitive. Players in grades 3 through 8 enjoy playing games for most of the day. One highlight will be the guest speaker, and the cost is $60 for the

six-hour camp.

The coaches from their summer camps are home for Thanksgiving, so the athletes will have an excellent staff led by coaches Bobby Moore and Tyler Boris.

MHD will have a concession stand with drinks, snacks, and pizza from Grand Apizza ($2.50/slice) for lunch. However, players are also welcome to bring those items from home.

Parents are encouraged to share this information with friends and to invite teammates to join their kids. It should be a great day of basketball and a chance for players to develop their confidence and enhance their love of the sport. All Things Killingworth Holds Picnic, Raises $9K Press Release from All Things Killingworth

The All Things Killingworth town picnic once again brought the community together for a day of hometown fun, food, and generosity—raising an impressive $9,000 to support two local causes. Proceeds were split evenly between Deer Lake Outdoor Center and the Kelly Allard Leach Foundation for Children with Spinal Injuries, with each organization receiving $4,500.

The donation to Deer Lake Outdoor Center will fund 11 weeks of summer camp scholarships, giving local children the chance to experience the adventure and connection that come from spending time outdoors. The Kelly Allard Leach Foundation will use its funds to continue supporting families navigating the challenges of childhood spinal injuries, carrying on its mission of compassion and resilience.

“For us, hosting the picnic is about gratitude and giving back to a community that has been so supportive,” said Jenn Carroll, director of Deer Lake Outdoor Center. “By creating a space where local nonprofits and businesses can share their visions with a wider audience, we continue to fuel a culture of collaboration and remember we rise by lifting up others.”

The 2025 picnic drew record crowds, with over 100 volunteers helping the day flow seamlessly.

Guests enjoyed a full lineup of entertainment, including a Cowboy Valley tribute, the lively Sanderson Sisters Show from the movie Hocus Pocus, the Bubble Truck, and performances by School of Rock, Madison; PitchDrop; and the John Spignesi Band. Friendly competition filled the afternoon with a lip sync contest and cornhole tournament, while one of the most memorable moments came when A Place Called Hope released two rehabilitated red-tailed hawks back into the wild.

Halloween has barely left the building but the holidays are right around the corner! Ivoryton Playhouse will be celebrating with a down-home, locally grown production, Playhouse Holiday Jamboree. Inspired by classic radio shows and old time musical revues, Jamboree is a cozy evening of songs, stories, laughter, and joy.

This holiday extravaganza is filled with festive tunes and heartwarming tales delivered by multitalented actor musicians. From foot-stomping fiddle breaks to gorgeous vocal harmonies, these incredible performers bring fresh life to beloved old favorites like O Holy Night, Winter Wonderland, and Let it Snow as well as a few beautiful contemporary pieces. And between the songs, you’ll hear folk tales, traditions, recipes, family stories, and more—some funny, some tender, all steeped in the magic of the season.

Playhouse Holiday Jamboree was created by Ivoryton Playhouse Executive Producer Ben Hope and Development Associate Katie Barton. This talented husband-andwife team are also co-directing the production. Music is directed by Hope and the set design is by Glenn Bassett.

Costumes are by Elizabeth Saylor, lighting and projections are by Jessica Drayton, and sound design is by Jonathan White. Props are by Kat Schorn. Jim Clark is production stage manager.

“We wanted to create something heartwarming and joyful; something that feels timeless like the great hits of the Christmas catalog”, says Hope.

Barton agrees, adding, “Jamboree is really our wish list come to life: a dream cast of performers, our favorite holiday music, a few folk tales, and just the right mix of humor and heart. Now all it needs is a jolly audience to make it shimmer!”

Now closing its 95th season, Ivoryton Playhouse continues its legacy of bringing the best professional performers and productions to the heart of the Connecticut shoreline. An Ibsen Classic: James Bundy, artistic director of Yale Rep (and dean of the David Geffen School of Drama at Yale) is directing his last production at Yale; he will leave in June. He has chosen the Ibsen classic, Hedda Gabler, a play about a woman trapped by societal expectations and outdated ideas. It runs from Friday, Nov. 28, through Saturday, Dec. 20.

Holiday Theater Begins: Ivoryton Playhouse is kicking off the holiday season early with Playhouse Holiday Jamboree.

No Broadway Strike: If you have tickets for a Broadway show, relax—the threat of strikes by Actor’s Equity and the Musicians Union is no longer. Actor’s Equity agreed to a new contract with the Broadway League, which has been ratified. The Musicians’ Union reached an agreement; union members are voting on the contract.

Ragtime at Lincoln Center: Goodspeed’s production of this musical—one of my favorites—was terrific, but the new production at Lincoln Center in NYC is superb. Joshua Henry’s performance as Coalhouse Walker is great. But the same can be said for Cassie Levy as Mother and

Brandon Uranowitz as Tateh. In supporting roles, Nick Barrington (Houdini), Ben Levi Ross (Younger Brother), and Shana Taub (Emma Goldman) are outstanding.

Add in a full orchestra (25+ pieces) and effective production values, direction, and choreography, and you have a production worth seeing.

NYC Notes: Daniel Radcliffe will return to Broadway this spring in the solo piece, Every Brilliant Thing. The NY Theatre Workshop’s production of Tartuffe, Moliere’s biting satire about religious hypocrisy which stars Matthew Broderick has extended its run through Saturday, Jan. 24. A star-studded cast, including Ramin Karimloo, Erika Henningsen, Emily Skinner, Elizabeth Stanley, and Marc Kudisch, will perform a one-nightonly semi-staged production of the musical Jane Eyre on Feb. 15. The hike features two trail choices: a longer walk of approximately three miles

(moderate difficulty with some steep stretches, best suited to people feeling sure of foot) and a shorter walk of one to two miles.

Wear appropriate clothes and comfortable, supportive walking shoes. Expect terrain with rocky stretches, and some declines and inclines. Muddy spots are possible if there has been rain. Bring water. The Shoreline ArtsTrail’s 25th annual Open Studios Weekend happens at more than 30 studio locations in Branford, Guilford, and Madison. Set to take place Saturday, Nov. 15, and Sunday, Nov. 16, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., the ArtsTrail is supported by 38 shoreline artists and 12 local business sponsors.

This juried event gathers some of the finest award-winning artists on the shoreline whose work reflect mastery of methods and materials, originality of concept, and creativity with pieces handmade by the artist in his/her studio.

Double Visions Showcases Double Artists Press Release from Brian McClear

Essex Art Association Galleries is hosting Double Visions through Sunday, Nov. 23, with an opening reception Saturday, Nov. 15, from 5 to 7 p.m. The show brings together painters Brian McClear and Peter Christ, two artists who share a fascination for reimagining the familiar.

Each offers a distinct lens on vintage Americana—McClear through evocative still-life pairings that find wit and symbolism in discarded objects, and Christ through luminous portrayals of the weathered signage and roadside icons that once defined midcentury America.

Seen side by side, their works invite a second look at nostalgia itself—revealing how humor, memory, and quiet beauty can transform the ordinary into something enduring.

About the Artists Brian McClear is a Connecticut-based representational oil painter known for his ongoing series, “Discards & Discovery” and “Ink & Oil.” A signature member of the American Artists Professional League and the Salmagundi Club and an elected artist at the Lyme Art Association, he has had his work widely exhibited and collected throughout the United States.

Peter Christ earned his Bachelor of Arts in Fine Art from Syracuse University’s College of Visual and Performing Arts and his Master of Arts in painting from NYU. Influenced by Jerome Witkin and pop art painter Idelle Weber, Christ creates work that explores the faded imagery of iconic signs and landscapes across North America, with paintings held in private collections throughout the U.S. and Europe.
