Year in Review: Guilford Faced Major Challenges in 2025 By Aaron Rubin Staff Writer

The year 2025 was an eventful one in Guilford, and we covered local elections and several infrastructural improvements, as well as major town property acquisitions and large-scale development projects. These are the biggest stories to emerge from Guilford this year. b

January The Engineering Department spoke with the Guilford Courier about the $53 million in infrastructure projects planned for the imminent future including roads, bridges, public buildings, and sidewalks. Special Olympics participant Cisco Keyes joins law enforcement officers and other runners as they make their way down the Boston Post Road in Guilford during the Law Enforcement Torch Run on June 6. The torch run, which raises awareness and serves as the largest fundraiser for the Connecticut Special Olympics, traveled through multiple towns along the shoreline before concluding at the olympics host site at Southern Connecticut State University in New Haven.
