1991 saw release of the first disc in the Day For Night imprint, intro duc ing composer Eric Scott to new music cir cles with “3 Mains” (Day 001). A collec tion of fifteen suites and minia tures arranged for piano and ensemble, these recordings are constructed and emu lated via lo-fi synthetics and samples in lieu of a proper chamber orchestra. For this moving collection of pieces, Eric adopted the genre “avant-garde-jazzclassical – an edgier and more insistent, antithetical cousin to easy listening.”
