1991 saw release of the first disc in the Day For Night imprint, intro­ duc­ ing com­poser Eric Scott to new music cir­cles with “3 Mains” (Day 001). A col­lec­tion of fif­teen suites and minia­tures arranged for piano and ensem­ble, these record­ ings are con­structed and emu­lated via lo-fi syn­thet­ics and sam­ples in lieu of a proper cham­ber orches­tra. For this mov­ ing col­lec­tion of pieces, Eric adopted the genre “avant-garde-jazz-classical – an edgier and more insis­tent, anti­thet­i­cal cousin to easy listening.”
