1991 saw release of the first disc in the Day For Night imprint, introduc ing composer Eric Scott to new music circles with “3 Mains” (Day 001). A col lec tion of fifteen suites and minia tures arranged for piano and ensem ble, these recordings are constructed and emulated via lo-fi synthetics and samples in lieu of a proper chamber orches tra. For this mov ing col lec tion of pieces, Eric adopted the genre “avant-garde-jazz-classical – an edgier and more insistent, antithetical cousin to easy listening.”
