1991 saw release of the first disc in the Day For Night imprint, introducing composer Eric Scott to new music circles with “3 Mains” (Day 001). A col lection of fifteen suites and miniatures arranged for piano and ensem ble, these recordings are constructed and emulated via lo-fi synthetics and samples in lieu of a proper chamber orchestra. For this moving col lection of pieces, Eric adopted the genre “avant-garde-jazz-classical – an edgier and more insistent, antithetical cousin to easy listening.”
