1991 saw release of the first disc in the Day For Night imprint, intro­ duc­ ing com­ poser Eric Scott to new music cir­cles with “3 Mains” (Day 001). A col­lec­tion of fif­teen suites and minia­ tures arranged for piano and ensem­ ble, these record­ ings are con­ structed and emu­lated via lo-fi syn­thet­ics and sam­ples in lieu of a proper cham­ ber orches­ tra. For this mov­ ing col­lec­tion of pieces, Eric adopted the genre “avant-garde-jazz-classical – an edgier and more insis­ tent, anti­thet­i­cal cousin to easy listening.”
