#22
The goal in packaging electronic, minimalistic and ambient music seems less connected to the traditional aspects of advertising and marketing; up-selling a potential client on a new look or a model that is desirable or simply unattainable; but rather, to resonate a sympathetic chord with the listener; to hit them on a more abstract level, where the purchasing decision lies behind instinct. A pure abstraction.

Rhythm Factory :: Push. Day 022.
1991 saw release of the first disc in the Day For Night imprint, introducing composer Eric Scott to new music cir cles with “3 Mains” (Day 001). A collection of fifteen suites and miniatures arranged for piano and ensem ble, these recordings are constructed and emu lated via lo-fi syn thetics and samples in lieu of a proper chamber orchestra. For this moving collection of pieces, Eric adopted the genre “avant-garde-jazz-classical – an edgier and more insistent, antithetical cousin to easy listening.”
