01. The key image for 3 mains was re-envisioned in 1995 as a fluid mixture of the old with the new; the 3ç hybrid figure as a mask which reveals the retro-nouveau 1960s fashion models, technology and architecture.

1991 saw release of the first disc in the Day For Night imprint, intro duc ing com poser Eric Scott to new music circles with “3 Mains” (Day 001). A collection of fifteen suites and minia tures arranged for piano and ensem ble, these record ings are con structed and emulated via lo-fi synthetics and samples in lieu of a proper cham ber orches tra. For this mov ing collection of pieces, Eric adopted the genre “avant-garde-jazz-classical – an edgier and more insis tent, antithetical cousin to easy listening.”
