Dawnvale has continued to work its magic with The Alchemist, a chain of ultra stylish cocktail bars. Branded the home of molecular mixology, the Alchemist has opened a beautiful waterfront branch at Media City - its third Manchester venue.

Of the 12 Alchemist branches across the UK, Dawnvale has been involved in the transformation of eight - and we’re lined up to work with the Living Ventures group, renowned designers Macaulay Sinclair and The Alchemist team on another four.

Terrace Bar

The team created a stunning, illuminated terrace bar with two bar stations for The Alchemist’s outside space, embraced by the restaurant’s breathtaking gold facade and overlooking the Manchester ship canal.

Cocktail Bar

Part of what makes The Alchemist such a popular venue is the skill of its mixologists. Our ultra fast cocktail stations feature drop-down blenders and double speed rails, making it easy to shake up some magic.

Commercial Kitchen

The Alchemist serves food from morning til late. Our custom commercial kitchen, complete with the latest energy-saving Synergy grills and a bespoke extraction system, cuts costs and reduces energy outlay.

Bespoke Interior Fit Out

The irregular shape of the building made this job a challenge. But, with a bit of imagination, we helped the team to include everything in the bars and kitchen in a functional, attractive and intuitive way.

When the beautiful Marylebone bakery, Feya Café decided to open a second location in London, the project’s lead designers approached us to help bring their vision to life.

We worked with the FormRoom team to turn the new Knightsbridge venue into an ethereal enchanted forest, with pops of colour, a hint of illusion and an abundance of Insta-worthy features, in keeping with the Marylebone café and sister bakery Dyce’s reputation as being an

the ethos for the whole project, “it all started with a dream” informed every aspect of the design and anywhere else in the capital.

Cafefitout

The brand vision for the space meant that a number of unique items needed to be sourced and manufactured including the statement bird cage-style seating and the holographic gems which adorned the walls to give a lush texture.

Projectmanagement

FormRoom knew of our ability to turn projects around quickly. We spent six weeks in total providing design, build, project management and aftercare services, completing on schedule for the planned November handover.

Cafefurniture

Seating includes beautiful textures and fabrics such as green and purple crushed velvet chairs with scalloped edges. The marble counter and chandeliers providing overhead lighting in the bar area.

Kro Bar Trafford Centre

Scope: Bar + Restaurant Fit Out

When KRO opened a new branch at Manchester’s Trafford Centre, they called on us to undertake the interior fit-out. We’d worked with them at three other branches, so they knew we’d have great ideas for their contemporary, chic style.

KRO took the final space in the Trafford Centre’s Great Hall eating zone, which meant that we had to plan and execute all design and build work carefully in order to meet the stringent guidelines set by the Trafford Centre.

Bespoke Commercial Kitchen

We designed and installed a complete kitchen, taking into account function, efficiency and operational flow. Our aim, as ever, was to make the kitchen a space that works perfectly for the staff.

Custom Central Bar

We created a central bar and continental deli area to fit with KRO’s laid-back, contemporary Danish style. This included a bespoke refrigerated display unit to keep food fresh while allowing diners to browse.

Cocktail Stations

The central L-shaped bar has a fully illuminated glass back bar, plus integrated cocktail stations and speed rails, giving bar staff everything they need for speedy service right at their fingertips.

Restaurant Fittings

We drew parallels between the bar and dining area, with the concrete bar frontage and table tops. Bespoke timber screens were added in for contrast, and to separate the areas for customer privacy.

PILOTS BAR & KITCHEN HEATHROW

Pilots Bar & Kitchen in London Heathrow is a bustling venue and a busy stop-off point for tired travellers. Managed by premium caterer and restauranteur, Rhubarb, the venue was rebranded to become a destination in its own right.

Inspired by the golden age of travel, Pilots Bar & Kitchen is a vintage-inspired eaterie catering to hundreds of diners each day. The rebranded restaurant needed premium quality, bespoke furniture to fit its newly rebranded décor - Dawnvale was asked to help.

BAR + RESTAURANT FIT OUT

Dawnvale worked with O2 Creative to help create a relaxed bar and dining experience at Pilots. We supplied custom-made furniture in line with O2 Creative’s designs - on time, and on budget.

Second Collaboration

This is the second time Dawnvale has worked on a Rhubarb venue. We collaborated with them and O2 Creative on London’s Sky Garden, and were invited back for this second project.

Free Standing Furniture

Simple dark-wood chairs and vibrant yellow high-backed chairs, paired with brushed steel tables, makes up the free-standing furniture in Pilots Bar & Kitchen, offering a classic look.

Additional Seating

Additional seating comes in the form of comfortable leather seats at the bar and raised tables, and panelled leather booths against the walls, adding an interesting, multi-level feel to the venue.

Scope: Bar Fit Out + Kitchen

We’ve had the pleasure of working with Chris from Rumba for many years. We initially designed our BARMADE stainless steel bar system for his very first venture, and we’ve helped him create some of Cheshire’s most vibrant venues since.

So when Chris came to us with a new brief that included sharks on the ceilings and caravans in the corners, we were mildly surprised but ultimately unruffled. “Something a bit different,” he said. And we do love a challenge…

Design

Polynesia, Mexicana-meets-Miami, and tiki-nautical: just some of the words that cropped up in this unusual project brief. Our design team worked hard to solidify this concept into a cohesive and workable bar and restaurant design.

DAY-TO-NIGHT

The brief was to create a venue with two distinct feels: a family-friendly day-time drop-in, and a party place for evenings and weekends. Our design needed to be versatile in both look and function.

Bar Furniture

We wanted RUMBA to feel authentic - like a beach party that had just been pulled together. We installed booth seating in tropical colours, fixed table/bench combinations in metal and wood, and high stools complete the look.

Resin Flooring

We created a sand-effect resin floor, complete with pebbles sunk into it, to complement RUMBA’s Miami-Mexico beach theme. And in the evenings, this unique, durable flooring provides a space for customers to dance the night away.

FIT-OUT

We began the RUMBA project with little more than an empty shell. Our team managed the entire, eight-week process - from design and drawings right through to manufacture, installation and finishing touches.

Facilities

Too often, toilets are a place to cut costs at the expense of design. Not for us: we used hygiene-finished corrugated steel for a shipping container feel, and matched custom metalwork with clashing colours and patterns.

Ice Cream Bar

We all remember the joy of ice cream on the beach. RUMBA now boasts a custom ice cream cocktail station, where bar staff can take childhood classics and add a cheeky, boozy twist.

Commercial Kitchen

RUMBA is serving up a slice of beach life in Cheshire with its new bespoke commercial kitchen, which speeds up the preparation of easy eats with a pressure-fryer for the southern style chicken and custom pizza oven.

Vip Booth Seating

Our first idea was to source vintage caravans for the VIP booths. After some consideration, we decided to build the ‘caravans’ from scratch, creating perfect wood frames and accessorising with genuine 1970s parts including windows, wheels and chassis.

Commercial Bar

The Barmade ultimate cocktail stations was used in the design for this high volume venue a 12 meters long incorporating 6 stations, deep blender sinks and speed rails, speed of service without affecting quality was the number one priority for this design.

TEXTURE + COLOUR

RUMBA Congleton is where Life & Soul decided to go all out with their visual design. The visual impact of the bar is undeniable, with a noisy blend of materials, textures, colours and patterns everywhere from floor to ceiling. Attention to detail is the key to this eclectic look.

The Snake Pit

RUMBA is the home of Snake Pit Rum. We used this brand as the basis for the bar’s outdoor area, framing the logo above the bespoke multicoloured bench seating and sun loungers.
