ARTIST STATEMENT

Dawn Sweitzer is a multi-media artist, based in North Carolina. Her artistic expression can be found in her mixed media paintings, woven textiles, mirrors, glass, home accessories, and so much more. Dawn’s expertise of working with such a wide range of media, makes her an artist without limitations.

Dawn draws inspiration for her designs from mood boards that embody her love of travel, different cultures, fashion, nature, patterns, and textures. Her various avenues of inspiration have given rise to rich pictorial compositions based on abstract, complex and modern patterns. She creates and arranges these patterns through various materials by compounding successive layers through overlaying colors, textures and finishes.

Dawn translates her ideas and inspiration into beautiful, one-ofa-kind pieces, created in her art form of choice. Today, she continues to create art that conveys her passion for the craft from her studio, located in High Point, North Carolina.
