PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT OPPORTUNITIES

TeleLEAD: TeleLEAD kicked off on September 15, 2021. This year, the time has changed to 9:30-10:30 on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of the month beginning September 15th. We have partnered with OSU Tele ECHO to provide this free professional development twice a month. Each session has a real-life case study in the life of a principal. Participants hear the case, have an opportunity to ask clarifying questions, and provide feedback or recommendations to the case. A short didactic is followed by each case. If you have a case that you would like to see showcased, please email Glen Abshere. All cases follow FERPA regulations.

New Principals Academy: The CCOSA’s New Principals Academy is designed to promote an interactive discussion on topics essential for participants to develop understanding and knowledge of the leadership role at the school level. The purpose is to provide guidance to steer an early career principal or assistant principal through the initial period of adjustment as a beginning administrator and set the foundation for a long and rewarding career as a school administrator. The academy will meet four times in the fall semester virtually and provide for an advocacy experience in the spring.

NEW! Principal Coaching and Mentoring: Supporting and Sustaining School Leaders

We are excited to present our new training opportunity for veteran school leaders who mentor other principals, leaders who supervise principals or leaders who just want to hone their own skills as a leader. This cohort will meet three times: Sept. 9, Oct 5, and Nov. 9. There are five modules covered over the 3-day training, including learning how to ask the right questions and assisting others in becoming better leaders. Learn to ask the right questions to assist leaders in thinking through their decisions and how to be a better leader. ■

Join OAESP! It’s that time of year!!! Renew your OAESP/CCOSA membership if you haven’t already done so. Encourage other leaders in your area to become a member. We are the premier association for school leaders. As always, please let us know if there is anything that we can do for you!
