Rock West Solutions staff includes seasoned engineers with decades of experience designing, analyzing, testing, and building highly integrated structures and systems. Our team also includes leaders who have assisted customers and clients in driving to balanced solutions based on their priorities.
Specific capabilities Rock West can bring to your business include: Technical Leaders and Integrators Engineers who have served at all levels of engineering - from detailed analysis and design to technical directors and chief scientists - on complex programs, large and small. Our engineers are experienced in the development and test of integrated structures for aircraft, spacecraft, and ships with a wide range of requirements, including dimensional stability, actuation and deployment, high stiffness, heat rejection, electrical grounding, EMI protection, RF performance, low weight, affordable cost, and compressed delivery. Composite Materials Engineers with hands-on experience with advanced composite materials and innovative manufacturing methods dealing with special properties such as: high stiffness, high strength, low dielectric and/or low RF absorption properties, dimensional stability, high or low thermal conductivity, and high temperatures. We also have proficiency in structural analysis of composites, metal components, assemblies, and bonded/ bolted joints. RF Design/ Analysis/ Materials Design and analysis of radome structures, innovative antennas, low observable structures, and space-based reflector antennas. We can design and integrate materials and coatings with customized dielectric, magnetic and/or resistive properties for radomes, low observables, antennas, erosion coatings, high temperature coatings and conductive elastomeric EMI seals.
Aerospace and Commercial Manufacturing Extensive experience in manufacturing methods of composites, precision machining, tooling, and precision assembly for aerospace applications. Our composites production facility in the Salt Lake City helps us help our customers determine if lower cost commercial manufacturing methods can meet their need Electro-Optical and Applied Sensor Technologies Extensive experience in the development of advanced sensor technologies using ultraviolet (UV) through far infrared (IR), and chemical sensing methods. We can assist customers with definition of requirements (through modeling), sensor development, and testing of missioncritical systems for detection, inspection, and metrology applications. Testing (RF, IR/EO, Structural, Other) Experience in defining test programs that demonstrate and validate products’ capabilities at the component level or integrated assembly level in terms of structural integrity, thermal conductance/insulation, RF transmission/ reflection, IR/EO properties, impact damage tolerance, erosion durability (rain, grit), lightning protection, and fatigue properties.
Facilities Rock West Solutions has two California facilities, one in San Diego the other in Santa Barbara. The San Diego facility is 5,000 sq ft of offices and a product development lab. The lab is set up to process, machine, fabricate, assemble and finish both metals and composites for prototype and low rate production. It also includes and RF/electronics lab for prototyping and testing. The Santa Barbara facility is 1,000 sq ft. Rock West Solutions’ affiliate company, Rock West Composites, has 40,000 sq ft of facilities near Salt Lake City, UT dedicated to high volume commercial composites manufacturing

Our business has seen steady growth in development efforts for advanced radomes, antennas, stable structures, sensors, and also commercial fabrication of composite tubes and molded products. Products Rock West Solutions develops and commercializes our own line of products as well as those we produce for our clients in the petroleum, aerospace, defense, national security, telecommunications, medical, and renewable energy industries. Our current product list includes high performance antennas, infrared beacons, customized dielectric test fixtures, and dimensionally stable structures. Rockwest is developing a family of Low profile antenna with lower drag and Radar Cross Section (RCS) that is a “plug and play� replacement for its commercial counterpart.
