HARRY POTTER FILM STAR TOM FELTON RETURNS TO THE ROLE OF DRACO MALFOY— ON BROADWAY

It is rare for an actor to revisit a role. But in a completely different medium? Rarer still. Tom Felton, who rose to fame as Draco Malfoy in all eight Harry Potter films, made wizarding world history when he stepped back into Draco’s robes—this time as an adult—in Harry Potter and the Cursed Child on Broadway. “It’s very much a ‘pinch me’ situation,” Felton says. “I keep thinking I’m dreaming.”

The blockbuster play picks up 19 years after the events of the final story, with Draco and Harry as grown men navigating fatherhood and a new generation of wizards. “Getting a chance to step back into Draco’s shoes now that he’s a father in this new story—it’s very exciting,” Felton adds.

The Morgan Library & Museum was completed in 1906 as the personal library of financier J. Pierpont Morgan. It’s a showcase today for both the exquisite building itself, an Italian Renaissance-style palazzo, and its holdings of art and rare books—don’t miss the institution’s copy of the Gutenberg Bible, dating to the mid-15th century.

Just off Central Park West, the American Museum of Natural History was founded in 1869 and still carries out its original mission to explore the natural world. The Richard Gilder Center for Science Education and Innovation includes galleries and the immersive look at scale Invisible Worlds. (The AMNH is also on our cover and pictured far right, where the revitalized Northwest Coast Hall fills the museum’s oldest gallery with the creativity of the living cultures of the Pacific Northwest.)

Visiting Fraunces Tavern Museum feels like time travel, with exhibitions showing off the building’s long and important history, including serving as the site of General George Washington’s famous farewell to his officers at the end of the Revolutionary War. The Frick Collection is a beloved New York institution,

newly reopened after years of renovations. The collection originated with industrialist Henry Clay Frick (1849–1919), who left his home and world-class art collection to the public. Iconic masterworks adorn first-floor galleries, while the second floor features smaller-scale paintings, sculptures, and decorative arts.

The Museum of Jewish Heritage–A Living Memorial to the Holocaust is nestled into Battery Park, celebrating the lives and traditions of both those who survived and those who perished in the Shoah.

MISSION IMPROBABLE Looking for an uncensored musical comedy with serious Tony cred? Then I suggest turning your attention to The Book of Mormon, a deliciously funny feast of profanity and irreverence whipped up by Broadway’s cheekiest creative team: Matt Stone and Trey Parker—the notorious duo behind South Park—and equally naughty Robert Lopez of Avenue Q fame.
