Starmer moves to end free speech
Former civil right’s barrister, leader of the Labour Party, Sir Keir Starmer, has reacted to the Russian-Ukraine troubles with authoritarian demands to shut down free speech here in the UK. In Parliament he called on the Government to close down Russia Today TV station for broadcasting an alternative point of view he disliked. He followed that up by threatening a small number left-wing MP rebels who dared to support a Stop the War petition which criticised NATO. And now he’s locked out his own Young Labour section from the party’s official social media accounts because they do not agree with his reactionary policies.

BRIAN BAMFORD HE DIED PEACEFULLY IN HIS OWN HOME AND 5AM THIS MORNING
F
or those who did not know Brian, he was a lifelong Anarchist. Back in the 60’s he was briefly jailed for having the guts to protest against the Vietnam War.
Sad to announce today the death of word newspaper and Northern voices writer, Brian
he knew, Brian was no relation to this hero of Peterloo, but the spirit was the same.
He was fearless in defending his views and only a few years ago got into an altercation with “comrades” that saw him being pushed down the stairs from a meeting room. Brian was softly spoken and a real Gentleman. So much so that he gained the epithet of “whispering, Brian.”
My own personal favourite memory of Brian is when the Fascist, Tommy Robinson brought his poisonous crew down to cause trouble outside the BBC in Manchester. Brian and I had been in a counter demonstration of only a few hundred people. As our group faded away Brian thought it would be a good idea, as reporters, if we asked why some of the Robinson supporters, why they were there.
For many years he was the leading light behind the “Northern voices” website which helped expose shifty goings on in politics throughout the country but especially in Rochdale. Brian had also been involved with the “Rochdale alternative press” which did so much to expose the pedophile behaviour of Cyril Smith.
So in he marched with me following. There were around 10,000 ultra-right wingers decked out with flags and banners, some of them reminiscent of Nazi regalia. Other younger Socialists shied away. Brian did not care a jot. He walked calmly into the midst of the crowd, got out his notebook and pen, and started asking questions.
Brian was also a member of the “building our local Democracy group that meet in the “Sam Bamford” room of The Olde Boars Head pub in Middleton. As far as

The Labour Right has killed the party, it’s time to bury it EVER since Sir Keir Starmer revealed his true colours and put the so-called anti-semitism Witchhunt, into over-drive to expel socialists, even the most misty eyed Labour Party member must have realised that the party has been taken over by the Red Tories. But what to do and where to take the fight is a nightmare the nonMarxist left has refused to consider beyond the blinkered stay and fight mentality. The expectation was that a fight back would be led by Corbyn and his mates in the Socialist Campaign Group of MPs. Corbyn’s is out, never ever to return and with barely a
peep from his mates. Even after deputy leader Angela Rayner MP said she believes in ‘shooting terrorists first then asking questions’, (more Jean Charless de Menezes murders) and not a single Labour MP has dared to take this fascist to task. That honour went to Tory MP, David Davis. And yet, even now, party socialists argue that they must stay and work for a new left leadership. This is cloud cuckoo land even assuming such members would not be expelled on one trumped up charge or another. Corbyn was the first left leader s i n c e 1 9 4 5 , unless y o u
count Wilson. Corbyn only won because Ed Miliband thought One Member One Vote (OMOV) would just weaken the union voice, and an error by the Right who helped Corbyn onto the ballot thinking him a joke candidate. Neither mistake will ever be repeated. Starmer has already abolished OMOV and locked out socialists wherever possible. Labour is in financial straights with unions reconsidering their cash support, and this Red Tory party is deservedly struggling at the polls. At election time votes for anyone but Labour could make all the difference. The Right has killed the Party, let’s bury it, and then work for a new socialist party to arise from the ashes. The Social Democrats and UKIP rocked the political establishment. It can be done; let’s do it!

SHIP FIRE Firefighters are struggling to put out a fire that broke out on a vessel carrying thousands of luxury cars which is adrift off the coast of Portugal’s Azores islands, a port official said. The official added it was unclear when they would succeed. Epstein, arrested in July 2019 on charges of trafficking underage girls for sex, was found dead in his New York jail cell the following month awaiting trial over abuses against under-age women. His former associate JeanLuc Brunel, in his mid 70s, had been charged with the rape of minors and held in prison since December 2020. He was briefly freed in late 2021 but then re-incarcerated on a Paris court of appeal ruling. A souce close to the investiga-
tion said Brunel had been found dead overnight in the prison de la Sante. Paris prosecutors later confirmed he had died. Police are now investigating the cause of death, added the source, asking not to be named. re we free to catch Covid or are we not? I thought all this was to be agreed at today’s Cabinet meeting. Were we not told that Winston Spencer Johnson was going to announce today our freedom to fall ill? It seems that Javid is screaming HEALTH, HEALTH, HEALTH while Sunak is screaming WEALTH, WEALTH, WEALTH. How I miss those Bubbles. They did not last. Well, they were designed by a Prick. I am reminded of a lesson in St. Catherine’s Girls Secondary Modern, Herriot Street, Liverpool. I was the teacher. The subject was government and politics. I spoke very few words. Brilliant ones, of course! These 15/16 year old girls were
pissed off at having to wear blue and white striped blouses. Having worked in our local prison I knew why. It was prison uniform. They wanted the head to change it. They thought that they would compose a survey for all the girls. What words? So they had to discuss how to pose the question. How to present the results to the head? “Better not be me, she hates me.” Lots of discussion about that.

The petition says that NATO “should call a halt to its eastward expansion and commit to a new security deal for Europe which meets the needs of all states and peoples,” adding: “We refute the idea that NATO is a defensive alliance, and believe its record in Afghanistan, Yugoslavia and Libya over the last generation, not to mention the US-British attack on Iraq, clearly proves otherwise.” The rebels included such icons of the left as Diane Abbott,
John McDonnell and Richard Burgon. To no one’s surprise they all buckled under and humiliatingly withdrew their support which makes a complete mockery of their oft repeated call for left wing party members to “stay and fight” rather than resign in disgust with Starmer and his cronies. A Labour spokesperson said: “The small number of Labour MPs that signed the Stop The War statement have all now withdrawn their names. This shows Labour is under new management. With Keir Starmer’s leadership there will never be any confusion about whose side Labour is on – Britain, Nato, freedom and democracy – and every Labour MP now understands that.” The group did not represent “benign voices for peace”, Starmer said, adding: “At best they are naive, at worst they actively give succour to authoritarian leaders
who directly threaten democracies. There is nothing progressive in showing solidarity with the aggressor when our allies need our solidarity and – crucially – our practical assistance now more than ever.” The other 10 second rebels were: Tahir Ali, Apsana Begum, Ian Mearns, Ian Lavery, Bell Ribeiro-Addy, Zarah Sultana, Mick Whitley and Beth Winter. Other MPs still supporting the petition include Jeremey Corbyn and Claudia Webbe, both former Labour MPs who, for different reasons, have had the whip withdrawn and sit as Independent MPs. Andrew Scattergood, cochair of Labour’s faded left Momentum, said: “It beggars belief that the Labour leadership instead focuses on a week-old statement in an attempt to wage factional warfare against them, while a real war wages on against the Ukrainian people.”

KRUSCHEV ON UKRAINE
F
ew academics have a more intuitive and thorough understanding of history unfolding between Russia and the US than Nina L. Khrushcheva, author, commentator and professor of international affairs at The New School in New York City. The granddaughter of the Soviet leader of the 1950s and 1960s Nikita Khrushchev has observed the unfolding crisis in Ukraine very closely and shares her thoughts with Kathimerini. In one of your recent articles you suggest that the West has ignored Russia’s security concerns. Do you really think that Russia’s big fear is that perhaps in 10 years time, Western NATO forces might establish military camps only a few hundred kilometers from Moscow? Well, yes, I mean the West ignored Russia as a legitimate player after the Cold War. America says that NATO is a defensive alliance. But in Putin’s view, if NATO is close to the Russian
borders this creates the potential for manipulation in Russian affairs. Also, Putin is thinking that if Ukraine is firmly in that NATO embrace in five years from now and they decide – and I think they already have decided – that he is the Saddam Hussein of Europe, then why not take him out? So Putin thinks that he doesn’t want to have this fate. Apart from that, Putin is basically saying, “Why are you denying me things that you do?” Finally, even if he dies in the Kremlin, after many years, he doesn’t want to be the one who, for example, didn’t prevent Ukraine retaking Crimea by force and the Russian naval force from being replaced by a US naval force. I think all these are very complicated thoughts that he has and that’s what I think drives his current actions. You have explained that Russia seeks to establish a sphere of influence. But what about the sovereignty of nations and their freedom to choose alliances? Ukraine should have the right to choose an alliance. But my
teacher, my mentor was George Kennan [the US diplomat who was the advocate of the doctrine of containment of Russia during the Cold War]. Yes, all the countries have equal rights but geopolitics suggests that ultimately the smaller countries, the less powerful countries end up choosing what’s the least harmful way for their existence. Look at Finland. I’m not disagreeing with your suggestion but let’s be reasonable here. I’ve been a critic of Putin since December 31, 1999 when he became president. But certainly the United States is not the source of goodness. Why is the West screaming about Putin so much and not screaming enough about [Turkish President Recep Tayyip] Erdogan? It’s just because the US needs a giant enemy. And, equally, Putin wants to push away a big power. Two countries that consider themselves important and messianic are arguing over who is better, more important and more messianic… Yes, but one could argue that there are some practical matters
here. If Ukraine falls and accepts Russian demands, then NATO will crack and Europe will enter a new Cold War era. China might be more emboldened toward Taiwan. And Russia will then ask for more influence over the rest of Eastern Europe. It is possible that all of that could happen. The Chinese are already emboldened and looking at this with great glee. And, yes, Putin might ask then, “What about the Baltics?” What Putin demands is what many Russian leaders would demand because Russian leaders think that they have a great country. But the West says, no, you are big but you’re basically just a gas station with a pump for us or something. And so you’re going to sit at the children’s table next to the toilet. What would George Kennan suggest as a solution to this impasse? George Kennan was very much against the expansion of NATO eastward in Europe and so he would say, “Consider their
issues, discuss their problems.” But, you know, I teach propaganda in the university and I see how politics is being done. You always need to create an enemy and you always need to create history to show you are right. Would your grandfather, Nikita Khrushchev, support President Putin in his goals regarding Ukraine? When Putin annexed Crimea, my uncle thought that Khrushchev would agree with that. My mother said instead that he would be appalled by that. Khruschev was certainly a Soviet patriot. He would have been traumatized even at the thought that American naval ships could go into Crimea. As you know, during his premiership, in 1956, tanks were sent into Budapest. In 1968, while he was retired, the Soviets sent tanks to Czechoslovakia. He was incredibly upset, and he was saying, “It’s been 12 years, and we haven’t learned a better way than sending tanks.” So today, I’m sure he would say, “It has been 60 years and still we haven’t learned a better way.”

It was first debunked on Twitter by Daniel Dumbrill, a YouTuber who lives in China and specialises in disproving
just such disinformation: He immediately Tweeted: "No they didn't. That is one of the many posters made by the studio and used in the West as well, but as a matter of fact, China is mostly using the version with Sharon present. You could've very easily verified this on your own." Several other Twitter users in China published photos they had taken showing the exact same posters as the rest of the world, but translated into Chinese, were being used.

between plummeting membership and the growing threat of bankruptcy which Reeve said was Jeremy Corbyn’s fault. She added that the 150,000 “never shared our values” and as she championed the memorialising of Britain’s first woman MP, Lady Nancy Astor, a well know Jew-hater, she was probably right.
This is not the first time Reeves has gratuitously insulted a large section of the party.
In 2015 as Ed Miliband’s shadow work and pensions secretary, she infamously declared that the party was “not the party of people on benefits” which immediately outraged disabled activists. hey say that our species, Homo Sapiens, has made more technological advancements over the last 100 years, than it EVER has throughout its entire 200,000 year history. And you have to ask yourself, if you’re a thinking person that is, why that might be? The Conspiracy theorists will all tell you that it’s aliens from another world, the evolutionists that it’s nothing more than a natural progression borne of something as simple and mundane as eating meat which made our brains evolve faster. Without wanting to risk delving too far into the realms of Mulder and Scully though, could it really be the case now that we actually were visited by and interfered with in some way by a race of technologically superior beings, beings that then engaged in a ne-
farious, but mutually beneficial deal of some sorts with the governments of our world? Would our governments actually enter into such an arrangement, you might ask? Would 100 years of technologically advanced marvels be enough to win them over? Well, it’s really not that farfetched when you apply a critical mind to the issue. Indeed, it’s a theory that’s touched upon quite seriously within the second half of Season 10 of ‘American Horror Story - Double Feature’, in which its creators, Brad Falchuk and Ryan Murphy offer us a scenario centred around an Alien race from a dying world that shares its technology with the American government for a price, technology ranging from microwave ovens, through stealth/military technology and microelectronics, and right on up to the mobile phones
that we now depend upon in our day to day existence, all of this in exchange for the dubious right to experiment upon certain Human individuals with the aim of producing an Alien/Human hybrid, within which the Alien race can better exist on Earth. BIZARRE NEWS Psycho E-moji Out In The Cold Jeremy Farmer, 35, was arrested on February 10. According to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD), he is a suspect in his father’s disappearance, and has been charged with murder. Farmer’s father, Fred, disappeared while on a hunting trip in late 2019. His family kept receiving text messages from Fred after he went missing, but something aroused their suspicions. Fred had suddenly started using emojis. That wasn’t something the 58-year-old retired mechanic had ever done before. Fast-forward to February 2021, and Jeremy is behind bars. And he might’ve gotten away with it all too, if he’d paid any attention to how his father wrote his texts. As far as his family was aware, Fred had never typed so much as the basic 🙂 smiley in his life. On December 27, 2019 – more
than a month after Fred had left for his hunting trip – the family reported him to the police as missing. The IMPD launched an investigation and began looking for Fred. The police found out that Fred’s cell phone was never in the woods where he was supposed to be hunting, reported the Washington Post. Instead, the phone remained in Wayne Township, west of Indianapolis, until it shut off for good in January 2020. Investigating Fred’s bank accounts also revealed something fascinating. Someone had made thousands of dollars’ worth of purchases using Fred’s debit card after he had disappeared. Surveillance footage at one of the stores showed Jeremy Farmer as the impersonator. The final nail in the coffin came when two witnesses told the police that Jeremy had bragged about killing his father. According to them, the young

METHOD Stir the lemon juice into the vegan milk. You can use soy, almond, hemp, cashew - they all work well. When you add the lemon juice it will slightly curdle - don't worry, that's what you want to happen! It's turning the plant milk into buttermilk. Melt the vegan butter (a hard vegan butter or a non-dairy margarine all work, with the syrup. You can use any liquid sweetener: golden syrup, corn syrup, agave or maple syrup. Maple makes for a slightly less sweet cake, but it's still really nice. Sift the dry ingredients into a bowl, then whisk to combine. Mix the wet ingredients into the dry and stir to combine. Don't overmix. You want it completely combined, but stir gently and don't beat it. Pour the batter into the prepared pans and bake for 30-35 minutes or until an inserted skewer (or knife) comes out clean. Cool in the pans for a few minutes, then turn out onto a wire rack for the cake to cool completely.
