Everything Goes wRight at CINCO DE BAJA

Haskel Wright won Class 10 at Cinco de Baja 300 in El Paso. His Ecotech rear-engined rocket flexed its 14” – 16” of travel to dominate the desert. The inline, dual cam 4 cylinder engine leveraged the variable timing and fivespeed tranny to maximize its 180 horsepower.

“It will scare you,” said Wright in a December 11, 2022 interview. “Our first big race in this car will be the Mint 400. My son and my daughter will probably be racing most of the race. It's a 300-mile race. I think they have a 100-mile Loop. I can't wait, looking forward to it.”

The Mint 400 in Las Vegas was contested on March 9 -12 and is considered one of the toughest desert races. In this case desert prevailed over machine and ended with a blown motor but the family team rallied to win in El Paso.

Outlaw Desert Racing was there providing pit support for Veterans and First Responders. Edgewood’s Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone also won in Class UTV Turbo Pro.
