Davidson Day School is a coeducational, independent, non-sectarian, college preparatory day school enrolling students from pre-school through grade 12. We are located in Davidson, NC, a small town of 9,000 residents located about 25 miles north of Charlotte. Davidson is home to Davidson College, a highly selective liberal arts college, which is one mile away from the Davidson Day School campus. Founded in 1999 as Acclaim Academy, the school was renamed Davidson Day School in 2001. In Fall 2007, we moved into a new academic facility to accommodate a growing student population,

and a new arts and athletics center opened in November 2008. In Spring 2009, Davidson Day School graduated its first class of 10 students. The Class of 2017 has 44 students.

Students at Davidson Day are expected to utilize a sense of inquiry, deconstruct sophisticated material, and fuel class discussion with cogent commentary.

The Upper School at Davidson Day School is comprised of a diverse student body that is cultivated by an exceptional faculty committed to providing excellence throughout all facets of our learning environment. INTERNATIONAL RESEARCH PROJECTS Davidson Day has led full-scale anthropological and archaeological research projects in Belize since 2009 and in Spain since 2014. Like most study abroad programs, our teams learn and interact with indigenous populations while living in international locales. In addition to this valuable experience, our programs partner with top-level colleges and universities and execute scientific research. Our students have the opportunity to present their findings at national and international archeology conferences.

Football

Our Belize program has been responsible for the majority of excavation and site preservation at the ancient Maya city of Cahal Pech in Western Belize.In Spain, our student-led team is engaged in a long-term archaeological testing project at the Medieval Spanish Castle of Zorita de los Canes. Here students live and work alongside Spanish professors and Spanish students working to better understand the onetime headquarters of the Calatrava Order of the Knights who once occupied the castle.
