Nevada Driver’s Ed Requirements If you’re a teen in Nevada under the age of 18 years old, the State of Nevada requires you to complete an approved driver’s ed course prior to applying for a full Nevada driver’s license. This requirement can be met through taking a 30 hour classroom or online course from a licensed, Las Vegas driving school. Additionally, you can fulfill the driver’s education requirement by taking an approved 15 hour classroom course along with a 5 hour course with a licensed driving instructor. If there is no course offered within 30 miles of your home, you can substitute the course with 100 hours of supervised driving vs the normal 50 hours of supervised driving requirement.

As you can see, with a written test, a required 30 hour driver’s ed course, 50 hours of supervised driving and a DMV driving skills test, the State of Nevada takes teen driving very seriously. The DMV ensures all new drivers are well prepared to meet the responsibilities that come with a full Nevada driver’s license. Eligibility to Take Driver’s Ed Teens as young as 15 years old are eligible to take an approved driver’s ed course in Nevada. All teens under the age of 18 years old are required to take a course or meet special
