ABOUT ME
Hi everyone and thank you for coming and supporting todays match for 2 great causes. I run a few Portsmouth football pages on the internet which is how most of you have found out about the game. Whatʼs behind me putting this match on ? Well, it all started after a young Portsmouth fan Elliot Smith sadly passed away of cancer. I saw a few comments on some of my pages I shared, saying we should do a charity match for him. That's how it started.
ELLIOT SMITH - MY INSPIRATION
I sort of gave up on the idea after getting a lot of knock backs. But after my friend Lewis got Diagnosed with Cancer it made me try even harder to make this match happen and thankfully after all my hard work, you are here, watching a game.
I got in touch and explained to Once upon a Smile what I was trying to achieve and they have been more then happy to help by bringing down a celebrity football team to help raise some money for their charity and mine, Children with Cancer Uk. I would like to thank Richard Davies and Daniel Jilling for making this possible. I am a massive Portsmouth fan I wanted to put a Portsmouth team together so would also like to give a big thanks to Touchline Tony who has helped me with putting this team together. Iʼd also like to thank all the players who have given up their time to come and support what I am trying to achieve. Something good for the communities. It has been very hard putting this all together, this is the FIRST ever event I have taken on as well as working 4 different jobs. Hopefully everything turns out as well as I hoped for and you all enjoy your day with us.. I have to give a big well done to A.F.C Swood and Widbrook under 8's who have raised over £800 and good luck in their penalty shoot out. Thanks once again for supporting my match.
