Reaching for the Sky
Wrapping
it up
Or at least abseiling down from the sky is one of the personal challenges our candidate David MacAskill has set himself, so we asked him what he thought were important characteristics working for an Event team. “Professional relationships are key, listening to the customer are vital and as important is the ability to make your customers ‘dreams become reality’. As a teacher that has been my role for almost 20 years , helping make Dreams become reality ‘ for young people. Fundamentally organisation, working to deadlines, checking details over and over again and making things happen with excellent communication. Confidence and trust is something I pride myself upon and believe that it is possible to bring a skillset and sometimes a different approach or way of thinking . Blue Sky thinking and creativity help exceed customers expectations and I have both of those in abundance. What separates me from others is I can have an idea AND also the knowhow of how to make it happen.
Some people say ‘ those that can’t …. Teach - i buck that trend and say actually I CAN…do both and would like to be part of a successful organisation to make use of these skills.
BUSINESS RECRUITER magazine asked David to sum up how what he does and how it fits the need of being a team member with IN2EVENTS and here is what he said. Being trained as a Design Technology teacher, the multiplicity of skills that requires lends itself perfectly to the event business.

Being an award winner with the SouthEast regional Education Business Partnership for the ‘Promotion of Enterprise Education in schools and colleges’, David has demonstrated knowledge of taking an idea through to fruition, which includes marketing, selling and generating income sources. David is confident in his nature and his level of education and wide range of skills enable him to work both independently and as part of a team Well travelled and having attended many events in a range of fields, gives him the edge when considering innovation.
Affable with a ‘Can Do ‘ attitude - ‘Anything is possible’ With the right tools and support that really is a mantra to live by working and instilling trust with clients is imperative - customer relations are vital. David prides himself on building and securing relationships but maintaining professionalism. David’s experience in the field of creative events, face to face consumer events, project management, education, printing and design lead him to believe that he can make a substantial difference to a focussed and award winning Event organisation. IN2EVENTS as an organisation is local which is attractive, is a market leader and oozes innovation. An organisation that not only would I like to work with but one that I think would like to work with me.
