Photo-Ready Chicago Neighborhoods For Springtime Vibes
By Erica AbdnourSet out for a scenic walk through some of Chicago’s prettiest and most picturesque neighborhoods! Filled with stunning architecture and rich history, your camera roll will be the envy of all your followers.
Hyde Park
Home to the University of Chicago, Hyde Park is packed with stunning architecture like Frank Lloyd Wright’s Robie House, Rockefeller Memorial Chapel, and Drexel Fountain. Not only will you love the buildings, but the foliage in this neighborhood can’t be beat!

Dear reader,
The COVID-19 crisis has left us in a peculiar position. In short, for the first time ever, we don’t know if the businesses we are featuring in this magazine will be open when you read it. That said, it is our duty to Chicago’s visitors, the concierge community and to our clients to publish Concierge Preferred Magazine as a tool to inspire a better Chicago experience, though that seems to mean something completely different right now.
While we realize there may be closings and limitations over the coming weeks, we want to make sure that you are getting great information about things to do in Chicago. We also want our clients to get the business they need to come out of this strong.

Lincoln Park
Stroll through the stunning Lincoln Park neighborhood and find gems such as the Lincoln Park Conservatory, the historic Biograph Theater, and the striking Ulysses S. Grant Monument. Make sure to head East to catch beautiful Lakeshore Drive views as well!

Rogers Park
Packed with fun outdoor activities, Rogers Park has it all - beaches, parks, and some awesome landmarks! Check out Loyola University and the Emil Bach House before you head to one of the beaches along the east side of the neighborhood!
At the time of publication, the information featured in this magazine may differ from a business’s actual operating schedule. We highly recommend that you take a moment to contact the business ahead of time - or ask your concierge to help you get in touch - to confirm that they are operating as planned or if there are any limitations that could affect your experience.
Thank you in advance for your support of Chicago during this time. We are glad you are here. I wish you a safe and wonderful experience!
Sincerely,
Tim O’Malley CEO Ateema Media & Marketing

Wicker Park
When you walk through Wicker Park, you can’t miss the nearly 100-year old Northwest Tower, one of Chicago’s very first skyscrapers. Within a few-block radius, you’ll run into the gorgeous 606 Trail and the Flatiron Arts Building, which offers walkthroughs periodically each month (make sure to check ahead for availability!)
Logan Square
This neighborhood just west of downtown offers a plethora of fun history! Check out landmarks like the Illinois Centennial Memorial Column, the iconic Logan Theatre, the quaint Comfort Station, and of course, a magnitude of colorful street art.

ROAMIN’ WRIGLEY

DO 10 MUST-DOS IN

WRIGLEYVILLE

Kyle FrancsisRitz-Carlton

When in Wrigleyville you have to go to Wrigley Field. During the spring and summer when the Cubs are in town you can always catch a game, but year round you can always take a tour of Wrigley Field. The tour will vary if it is game day but you still get to see the field in all its ivy-covered glory. Outside the field you have lots of bars and restaurants like Swift & Sons, Tavern and Oyster Bar - Wrigleyville and of course the Cubby Bear. If you are wanting to explore out past the park you will find the LGBTQ community of sprawling bars, restaurants, and shops. North of the park you will find Graceland Cemetery; the burial site of lots of notable individuals to Chicago like city planner Daniel Burnham, Retail mogul Marshall Field, and architect Louis Sullivan.
Alex Yu - The Peninsula
I would say that one of my favorite places to go dancing would be Smartbar. They host a lot of legendary house music DJs and other great traveling DJs, and they have been a historically very progressive and LGBTfriendly club. I would also say that my favorite pizzeria in the city for deep dish pizza is a super casual neighborhood spot called Michael’s Original Pizzeria and Tavern The Music Box Theater is a super charming cinema that plays both older films and older formats, in addition to a lot of independent and foreign films that you won’t easily find at a box office theater.
Rebecca StarodubRitz-Carlton

Uncommon Ground is one of my favorite restaurants in Wrigleyville. The farm-to-table cuisine focuses on local, seasonal ingredients and they have a brewery on site at their Lakeview location now too, Greenstar Organic Brewery. They change their menu seasonally, but one of my favorite dishes is their korean spiced calamari. Cozy Thai is right by Wrigley and they have the best crab rangoon I have ever had. The whole restaurant is decorated with toys and is so fun and whimsical.. The women’s bathroom is decorated entirely with pez dispensers. Pick Me Up Cafe is open late and vegan-friendly, a perfect place to grab a casual bite with friends.

When I'm in Wrigleyville it’s mostly to watch the 2016 World Champion Chicago Cubs. Some of my favorite places in the area include going to the upper level of Sluggers and take a couple of swings at their batting cage to warm up the joints. HVAC across the street from them tends to showcase local talented musicians playing live music. One of the greatest additions is Lucky Strike. The facility itself has a lot of square footage to get lost in. Whether you’d like to shoot a round of Pop A Shot, play a little billiards, bowl or just dine at the bar and watch the game at their state of the art projection TVs and sound system. Definitely a place where you can do it all and spend several hours in.
Eric Loughlin - TheWit

Guthrie’s Tavern is one of my favorite neighborhood bars in Chicago, as the tap list is extensive, the service is friendly, and there are a bunch of board games available for you to play during the evening. Either take a friend and post up at the bar or bring a group of four as there are a few tables available. If you’ve got a sweet tooth head up the street to Nuts on Clark and help yourself to their take on the Chicago Mix popcorn, and if you haven’t gotten your fill of hot dogs at the game Tango Sur is a short walk away and is a BYOB Argentinian steakhouse that’s simply to die for (don’t leave without getting an empanada!). Also, if you should happen to be there early in the morning and it’s the weekend I think Crosby’s Kitchen is one of the best kept brunch secrets in Chicago.

Mom’s Place
I have never had a bad time at the hidden gem that is Mom’s Place in River North! This upstairs pub offers two areas: the front bar with a great live band, and a back bar where the karaoke happens. The DJs are fantastic and friendly, and the crowd never fails to cheer you on - trust me, Freddie Mercury would be offended by my rendition of Bohemian Rhapsody, but the Mom’s crowd makes me feel like my album is going platinum!
