INTERNATIONAL PROJECT SERVICES
Note: Throughout this report you will find quotes from DC Sisters. These come to DC IPS via their grant reporting. They provide insight and help give context to their ministries and communities.

Dear Friends and Supporters,
Poverty, creativity, perseverance, faith, compassion, and generosity - these words have been part of my life as a Daughter of Charity for 44 years. Yet, since joining Daughters of Charity International Project Services last November, I have come to see them in new and profound ways. Each time I learn the project details from our Sisters serving communities around the world, I witness their courage and vision, and I am reminded of how deeply these words come alive in their daily ministries.
Through their eyes and voices, I have seen more clearly the harsh reality that so many people face each day: little or no access to clean water, food, healthcare, education, work opportunities, or safety. These realities could easily lead to despair. Instead, I am moved and uplifted by the Sisters’ unwavering spirit, their creativity in the face of daunting obstacles, and their tireless commitment to those most in need.
In place of despair, I see hope: a Sister ensuring her community has clean water, another nurturing children in her school, or another helping families launch small businesses through microfinance programs. These are not fleeting dreams, but concrete realities born of perseverance, faith, and trust in God. Like St. Vincent de Paul, our Sisters reach out, collaborate, and invite others to join in this mission of love.
And that includes you. Your generosity does more than provide financial support, it provides hope. It sustains the Sisters’ energy, strengthens their resolve, and makes possible the transformation of lives and communities. Thank you for walking with the Daughters of Charity, so they can continue walking with those who need them most.
With deep gratitude,

Daughters of Charity International Project Services (DC IPS) was established to help Sisters in developing countries carry out their mission of service to those who are poor. Through the dedication of our global network, DC IPS continues to reach vulnerable communities around the world, supporting sustainable development and meaningful change.
Around the world, Daughters of Charity are serving in some of the most challenging environments, often sacrificing their own comfort and safety to care for the most vulnerable. This selfless dedication is at the heart of their mission – and we want them to know they are not alone.
In a recent review, DC IPS identified several countries where Sisters have submitted few, if any, applications for support over the past ten years. While this raised natural questions of “why,” our immediate priority was to strengthen connections and ensure Sisters in these countries understood how DC IPS can serve as a resource for their vital ministries.
We reached out to the countries who had submitted three of fewer applications over the past decade. We invited Sisters in each country to select one critical project that could be completed within a year, and to submit a DC IPS application along with photos of their current work.

The reason we ask help and support from IPS is to offer these brothers and sisters of ours the opportunity to live a life with dignity, even in their old age and loneliness, we can become a light of hope through care and closeness, as the Gospel teaches us.
Local Sister, Kosovo

We are thrilled to share that 12 countries responded to this invitation, each submitting a thoughtful and impactful project that will be carried out in fiscal year 2026 with funding from DC IPS. This initiative was not only about supporting these important projects – it was also an opportunity to familiarize Sisters with our process and encourage them to feel confident reaching out for future support.
The submitted projects span a wide range of needs, including nursing home renovations, access to food and medicine, and programs promoting entrepreneurship and empowerment. Each initiative reflects a deep commitment to serving those in greatest need.
We are inspired by Sisters’ courage and compassion, and we are hopeful that this marks the beginning of lasting partnerships between DC IPS and Sisters in these countries. We look forward to the many lives that will be touched by their “yes” to this new opportunity.
Across multiple countries, Daughters of Charity provide vital medical care, nutrition, and essential support to those who would otherwise be left behind, particularly the sick, elderly, disabled, and those living in poverty or without family support. Sisters are deeply committed to serving the most vulnerable individuals through a compassionate, community-driven approach that addresses both urgent and long-term needs.
Through the provision of critical nutritional support, Sisters work to restore health and human dignity to vulnerable communities and those in dire need. While caring for their communities, Sisters offer not just food and basic needs, but a sense of home, belonging, and future possibilities through daily support. Sisters ensure that children can focus on education rather than their empty stomachs and families are provided with a stable nutrition resource when they need it most.

Every time that we go to these people in need, they express their deepest thanks and gratitude for the charities and the people who are providing them with the necessary medication. These patients were supported with medications through this project.
Local Sister, Albania

Their medical outreach focuses on those suffering from chronic and life-threatening illnesses, offering not only medications and health education but also dignity through compassionate home visits and comprehensive care. In locations where many patients have no access to adequate healthcare, Sisters become a critical lifeline, restoring hope and relieving suffering.
Across all these efforts, Daughters of Charity focus on more than survival—they nurture the whole person. Their work strengthens communities by empowering the poor, improving health outcomes and creating opportunities for lasting change. Every meal served, every medicine provided, and every act of care extends the Sisters’ mission to see and serve those who suffer most.
Access to clean water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) services transforms communities, but the true measure of success lies in sustainability. Since 2004, DC IPS has funded 92 WASH projects, bringing life-changing infrastructure to vulnerable populations worldwide. However, initial implementation is only the beginning. Without ongoing support, even the most well-designed systems can fail, leaving communities without the services they desperately need.
Our Circuit Rider program represents DC IPS’s commitment to lasting impact. This innovative sustainability initiative deploys trained WASH professionals to conduct annual site visits, ensuring critical infrastructure continues operating at full capacity. Through comprehensive maintenance assessments, timely repairs, and hands-on training for local staff, the program addresses the primary causes of WASH system failure: inadequate maintenance and insufficient training.
By focusing on sustainability, DC IPS ensures that Sisters’ WASH investments continue delivering clean water, improved health outcomes, and enhanced quality of life for generations to come.

Now, with the renewed water well, we no longer worry about water shortages. The water is clean, safe, and drinkable — we are truly blessed. We continually pray for our donors and for IPS, who made this well possible and ensured its maintenance. Their support has brought us reliable water and great peace of mind for which we are very grateful.
Quarterly Appeals serve as a vital communication tool, drawing attention to special focus areas that emerge from Sisters’ direct experience serving communities worldwide. These carefully crafted publications highlight the most pressing issues and emerging crises that Daughters of Charity encounter in their daily ministry. From emphasizing life-saving HIV/AIDS treatment at DREAM Centers to mobilizing support for Ukrainian relief efforts during times of conflict, or addressing critical gaps in maternal and child healthcare access, these targeted appeals help donors understand both the urgent challenges facing marginalized populations and Sisters’ dedicated efforts to address these critical needs.
By sharing these focused stories and urgent calls for support, the Appeals create meaningful connections between donors and the communities they serve, fostering deeper engagement with the mission and enabling more strategic philanthropic impact. All of our Appeals can be found on our website on our Communications page.

Daughters of Charity’s global mission encompasses a wide range of unique projects serving those in need across communities worldwide. While these meaningful initiatives often address multiple marginalized populations and intersecting social issues, DC IPS thoughtfully organizes them into clear thematic categories. This strategic approach makes it easier for donors to discover and support the causes closest to their hearts, while acknowledging that our most impactful work often transcends traditional boundaries. By providing this organizational framework, we help connect passionate supporters with projects that resonate with their values and interests, ultimately strengthening our collective ability to serve vulnerable communities around the globe.

The impact of the numbers trained in Safeguarding all over the Philippines have created ripples of interest in all sectors resulting in numerous requests for such training and the other special skills following the awareness training. It creates in some persons a PASSION for the defense of human rights no matter the cost and challenges working for justice entails.

Dear Friends and Supporters,
As you finish reading this year’s report, I hope you too have been inspired by the extraordinary witness of our Sisters and the people they serve. Their stories reveal not only the reality of poverty, but also the resilience, creativity, faith, and generosity that can emerge when hearts and hands work together for a brighter future.
None of these stories would be possible without you. Your kindness and generosity make these transformations real. Every dollar given, every prayer offered, every moment of solidarity shared strengthens the mission of the Daughters of Charity and uplifts those most in need.
I invite you to hold one of these stories close, let it stir your heart, inspire your prayers, and remind you of the global community of love and hope we share. Please continue to carry these Sisters and the people they serve in your thoughts, prayers, and conversations. Share their stories with family, friends, and colleagues so that others may also join in this mission of hope.
Your support of Daughters of Charity International Project Services is not just a gift, it is an investment in lasting change. Together, we are helping individuals and communities not only survive, but thrive with courage and compassion.
On behalf of the Sisters, their co-workers, and the communities they serve, thank you for being part of this journey of transformation. We are blessed to call you a member of the DC IPS family.
With heartfelt appreciation,
