Ilorin has a rich history of providing great scholars of all backgrounds attained intellectual prominence scattered at home and abroad. Sheikh Yahya Salaaty possessed all kinds of emulating character which included: Bravery, articulate outspoken, educator, a prolific writer, community leader.

It is always painful with wonders when death snatched a great jurist, Sheikh Yahya Ibn Hashim Ibn Muhammad Ibn Baba Ibn Abdus-Salaam on the 5th July, 2018 at Porto-Novo, Republic of Benin following a brief illness.

Born 1960 in Ilorin. He attended his education from his uncle, Muhammad Buhari. He joined Ansarul-Islam Okekere Ilorin 19681976. He travelled to Lagos 1976 lived with Sheikh Abdullahi Salaty. He joined Markaz Arabic Training Centre between 1976 and 1983. He became Ameerul-Jaysh 1996.

He became Imam of Aranse Oluwa mosque at Papa Ashafa, Agege, Lagos state, Nigeria 1983-1985. He joined Ansarud-Deen Society of Nigeria 1985-2012. He succeeded Sheikh Abdullahi Salaaty for the Ramadan Tafseer at Ode Alfa-Nda, Ilorin 2005 till he bowed for the angel of death on the 5th July 2018.

He continued the legacy of Sheikh Nda Salaty propagating Attareeqatul- Qadiriyyah. He travelled to Egypt 2011 to learn more about Sufism, Senegal 2012; he travelled to Italy 2016, France 2016 and Canada 2016.

His father was a Nephew to popular great sufiyun-Sheikh Ahmad Rufai Nda Salaaty. His mother-Hajiya Sa’aadat is one of Nda Salaaty’s daughters. He is a man of integrity, resourceful to humanity. Some people live to die while some die to live. The respected reformer of Qadiriyyah is an icon of knowledge, preacher, and author of many books. The quality life he lived immortalizes him as a great leader of the people.

In memories that are native to generational transcending. Yahya's family therefore consoled with the fact that only Almighty Allah gives and takes life when he pleases. If it was possible to bail out his soul from the angel of death Salaaty’s family will do but, the Holy Quran says: ''Kullu Man(i) Alayhaa Faani''- 'Every living 2

The demise of Sheikh Yahya

The demise of Salaty Sheikh Yahya Salaaty died peacefully at 58 and survived by wonderful children and good wives. He loved poor and was able to master the loyalty of his people for years. We should remember death; we shall leave all those worldly pleasure, desires, and goal ambition.

I urge all his children to emulate his philanthropic philosophy.

May Almighty Allah accept the special fidau prayers organized by all his children and family.

May Almighty Allah grant him more eternal peace and grant him Jannatul Firdaous.
