Popular Sheikh Mustapha Sanusi Zughluul dies at 80 (1937-2017) Story by Dauda Awwal I was shocked over the death of a great historian, It is always painful and wonders when death snatches a soul of Waliyullaahi, it is on proven account, resourceful to humanity. Sheikh Mustapha Sanusi Zaghluul has created a vacuum by his death which may be difficult to fill. Sheikh Zaghluul have lived an episodic sojourn, His death is a huge loss to the Muslims in Nigeria.

Some people live to die while some die to live in memories that are native with the fact that only Almighty Allah gives and takes life when he pleases, he lives on in our memories truly as a good father and visionary scholar.

Born 18 August 1937, he received his early education under his father Mohammad Sanusi. He joined Arabic Training Centre Markaz, Agege, Lagos State at the age of 18 under his great teacher Late Sheikh Adam Abdullahi El-Ilory. He graduated 1960 and visited Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Jerusalem, Kuwait and Syria. He founded his Darud-Da'wah Arabic and Islamic Centre between 1970 and 1971. He has produced various scholars up to 80,000 till he bowed for the death.

The family of the deceased made an official announcement in Nigeria and London ''We announce with the total submission to the will of Allah, we just lost an Erudite Scholar Maolana Sheikh Mustapha Zugluul. Please, continue to pray for Sheikh and remember him at various Asalatu on Sunday. May Allah overlook his shortcomings and grant him Al-jannatul Firdaous Amen.''

In a statement released by the Secretary of Rabitah-the league of Imams in United Kingdom.

Sheikh Muntaqa Zughluul, London based Banker said: ''Our father has fulfilled a very fulfilling life''. Alhaji Musa Animashaun, the president Nigerian League Imams, UK said: 'His death is a loss to Nigeria'. Sheikh Muhyddeen Najmuddeen, the Chief Imam Assalaru Rahman, UK lamented: 'We have lost a prominent philosopher and great historian like late Sheikh Adam'.

The remain of Zughluul was delayed for the burial until his last bornSheikh Muntaqa Mustapha Sanusi, the deputy Imam Annur Islamic Mission, UK arrived Nigeria from London.

The father of 8 bowed for the angel of death-Azraaeel and reported dead on Wednesday July 5, 2017 in his residence after a brief illness according to the family.

Sheikh Zughluul was a great historian; he was the proprietor of DaarudDa'wah Arabic and Islamic Centre Isolo, Lagos state. The institute has produced great scholars and professors. Zughluul was Renowned Islamic Scholar, wrote his name on gold through his numerous achievements. His life time was smooth. No one will be able to fill the vacuum he created.

Late Sheikh Adam once said: 'If I died and questioned by God regarding my achievements during my lifetime, I would tell my Lord that I have produced

erudite scholars, such as Mustapha Zughluul and Wahab Zubair AlGhamawiyy'': Both of them were among top old students of Markaz Arabic Centre ''I myself asked Ghamawiy during one of my interviews with him 2013. I asked him about Sheikh Zughluul and he told me that Late Sheikh Adam Abdullahi El-Ilory named Sheikh Mustapha 'Zaghluul' He added Zaghluul to Sheikh Mustapha's name when he was with late Sheikh Adam.

He said:'Sheikh Adam saw an Arab man in Egypt who was tall and fat looks like Sheikh Mustapha Sanusi', since that time, the deceased carried the name till he died.(Rahimahumallaahu).

Sheikh Habeeb,mudeerul Markaz embraced all his children and prayed for them and sympathized with the family and promised to support them.

Zughluul was a prolific writer, educator, he scores of book written in Arabic on different fields, among his works AkhabaarurRubaa Fi Akhabaari bilaadi Yoruba.

The family of the deceased appreciates support of the prominent dignitaries attended the burial, among them ,Lagos state government was represented by the commissioner of home affairs and culture, AbdulHakeem Abdul-Lateef, Sheikh Sulayman Faruuq Onikijipa,Alhaji Sheikh Ahmad Abdur-Rahman, Justice Harun, Professor Bidmas of University of Lagos and Professor Bidmas of University of Ilorin, Emir of Ilorin representatives, Oba Raufu Olayiwola Olawale, the Akirun of Ikirun, Muslim organizations, Diplomats, Many Arabic students and Journalists.

Late Fadeelat Sheikh Mustapha Zughluul had only one wife-Alhaja Ra'fat Mustapha Zughluul and survived by eight children,Sheikh Ridwan Mustapha,Sheikh Ishaq Mustapha,Sheikh Muhyddeen Mustapha,Sheikh Suraqah Mustapha,Sheikh Faisal Mustapha,Zubaydah Mustapha and Sheikh Muntaqa Abimbola Mustapha Zughluul who is the deputy Imam Annur Islamic Mission, UK. Zugluul's death is a great loss to Ikirun and Lagos State, the way he gives out gesture willingly to the love, friends and family, the way he delivered sermon to the people. If it is possible for all the Yoruba Muslim Community and scholars, they will bail out Sheikh Zughluul from the Angel of death, but Almighty Allah has said in the holy Quran ‘’Every soul shall taste the death’’.
