CS

Recycling Brand Manual

CS Recycling Brand Manual

The idea behind this Brand Manual is to ensure that the new brand is used in a way that is standardised across all forms of communication. Whether it is a business card, an invoice or the graphics on a vehicle, it is good practice to have everything looking like it is part of a coherent system to enforce the brand.

The Manual has guidelines on how best to use the logo, brand typography and colour useage.

If you have any questions, please email: studio@datumcp.com Introduction

The logo

The primary logo is made up of three sections which, for clarity, we’ll call the ‘ICON’, the ‘WORDING’ and the ‘ESTABLISHED DATE’. The three sections should all appear whenever the primary logo is used.

This version of the logo should be used on all forms of printed and digital communication –where possible.

Coloured backgrounds

The primary logo should use both brand colours where possible. Where it appears on a coloured background, or a tint, it can be used in a single colour where it is deemed neccessary.

To ensure the logo stands out clearly and there is plenty of space between other design elements, such as text or logos and the edges of documents, we have created an ‘exclusion zone’ which is based on the ‘R’ character.

Primary logo exclusion zone

The secondary logo is essentially a vertical format version of the primary logo. It places the ‘WORDING’ and the ‘ESTABLISHED DATE’ under the ‘ICON’ and, as such, emphasises the ‘ICON’ much more.

This version can be used where space is limited. However, the legIbility of the ‘ESTABLISHED DATE’ will be compromised at smaller sizes so there is a special version of this logo without this part which is to be used in instances where the width is 20mm or less.

What NOT to do!

DO NOT stretch a logo to fit into a specific area. Always scale in pro.

DO NOT add an outline to the logo. DO NOT use alternative colours for any part of the logo. See colour guide.

DO NOT use the logo on a patterned background. It will lose it’s impact.

DO NOT use the logo at an angle. (Using it vertically is OK if need be.)

DO NOT use an alternative typeface for the logo.

DO NOT alter the position or scale of the elements that make up the logo.

Recycling
‘Icon‘

The ICON part of the logo can be used in isolation as long as the main logo (or secondary logo) appears somewhere else in the document also.

If it is a single page design (1), the main logo must also appear on that same page (it can be smaller). In a multi-page document (2), the main logo can be on the back page, for example.

Shredding Shredding

The additional brand is CS Shredding. This is very similar to CS Recycling brand and the logo works in exactly the same way, with the exclusion zone, colour rules and secondary logo.

Primary colours

The CS Recycling brand is recognisable for its 2 main colours. ‘CS Blue’ and black. For print and digital purposes the colour recipes are shown above.

These colours must be adhered to and no other blue should be used. In some cases, an enhanced, or ‘rich’ black can be used for print but only for the logo or larger blocks of colour and never for text. (Please contact us for advice).

Typography

Abc

Main typeface

The CS Recycling brand uses the typeface Roboto for all text, for example use in headings and body copy.

Where the design requirement necessitates, a universally used typeface – for example within the design of certain html websites, or newsletters – can be used. The typeface Arial can be used in stead of Roboto.
