The Great Fire of London
Sunday, 2 September 1666.... Dear Diary, Today was frightening. It was absolutely horrible. I woke up and heard the church bell. I looked out of the window and saw a fire. I packed my belongings and went on a boat far away from the fire. I came back to my house. I saw my house not on fire. I was overjoyed! Arya Dear Diary, There was a fire in London. I felt afraid. I could see red flames and black smoke. I got my belongings. I can taste the ash. I went on a boat with my family. I hope the fire goes out soon. Emilie
Dear Diary, Early in the morning I heard people shouting, “Fire!” I heard the church bell. I felt terrified so I packed my toys and clothes. I felt heartbroken I felt really worried. On the Street I saw scared people. I could smell burning wood. I could taste smoke in my mouth. We ran to the River Thames to escape from the fire. I am so happy we escaped the fire. I hope they put out the fire. Uma Dear Diary, Today was frightening. My mum gave me a shock. She told me that there was a raging fire going on and the fire was spreading far and wide very quickly. Nothing could stop it. I had to pack my things and leave. When I went outside I could see flames burning up houses and hear people shouting, “Fire, fire!” and the crackling of the fire. I could smell smoke tickling and filling my nose. I could touch burnt wood. I could taste smoke and ashes and tiny stones. I was able to go on a boat thankfully. I went to the countryside and set out blankets for shelter. Now I hope the fire will go out soon and my house is safe. I am so nervous and blue. Shivani
Today I felt devastated. A fire started in pudding Lane. My master woke me up, even though I was awake already. I felt alarmed. Me and my master set off. I felt nervous. I ran around screaming, “Fire, fire!” I boarded a boat. I felt tired. I could touch hot things making my hand spring off. I had an itchy tongue. I looked baked. I hope my house is okay. I saw ferocious flames learning over the city. I smelt smelly people. I was terrified. Dear Diary, Jessica At two o’clock in the morning, me and my mum woke up from the sound of a fire. December 2200 was collecting food. Two men picked up spears and started throwing them at a deer while me and another girl went to My father, an inventor, finished inventing pick berries.
