What’s at the Show... Kitchens

For many people the kitchen is truly that “heart of the home.” More than a place to prepare and share a meal, it is the hive of the home’s activities, from homework spot to party-central, especially here in Nova Scotia!

Cabinetworks knows how we use our kitchens, and how our needs have changed – after all, the company has been building and renovating cabinets since 1983. Regardless of the amazing advances that have taken place in terms of technology and style over the years, Cabinetworks understands that what doesn’t change is the need for quality kitchens built by skilled craftspeople. Speaking of change, “what’s old is new again” as Real Homes Show attendees will see when they visit the Cabinetworks display, where they will be featuring Elmira Appliances; a series of retro and antique styles built on a platform of modern appliances. For those who have more

contemporary taste, Cabinetworks will also be highlighting a new, modern display that showcases the beauty of pairing high gloss and wood, a contrast that has big style payoff. And of course, Cabinetworks knows that a kitchen is nothing without functionality and will have examples of their most popular items it terms of kitchen convenience and functional accessories.

Leo Hollohan, president of Mother Hubbard’s Kitchens & Fine Cabinetry, understands the importance of the kitchen in the life of a home. “The one thing that doesn’t change, no matter who or where you are, is the desire to have your kitchen be a place of comfort and convenience. It’s the hub of all the home’s action.”

“These days, the tendency is to tailor kitchens to suit our customer’s needs. People are no longer happy with the onesize-fits-all or ‘kitchen in a box’ approach. Customers are more willing than ever to spend on accessorizing and customizing

their kitchen,” Hollohan explains. “Customers are looking to have a kitchen that works perfectly for them.”

“This year’s Mother Hubbard’s display will showcase two highly customized areas just as examples of how we they personalize areas for specific needs, but The Real Home Show is also where Mother Hubbard’s will be launching their very own new line of 3D Laminates.

“In an effort to offer our customers an extensive selection of finish options we have decided to expend our production ability and offer our very own line of 3D laminates doors,” says Hollohan. “Being able to produce our own doors means everything is built locally, therefore, it’s ecofriendly, offers quicker service and, most of all, gives us the ability to offer colours that no one else can.” 3D laminates are an excellent choice as you can get the style you are looking for a fraction of the cost. They come in a wide

variety of colours such as solids, wood grain and other patterns, with a huge selection of finishes such as high gloss or textures, which can mimic paint or woodgrain.

“The beauty of this product is the look, durability, versatility and its price point which will give the home owners and home builders plenty of options for their budget,” Hollohan explains.

This year Mother Hubbard’s display will be displaying different 3D Laminates finishes from rustic to ultra modern, showcasing the versatility in style of our new product and collection.

Progressive Cabinets / Living Lighting realizes that no two families are exactly alike, nor should two kitchens be. If you’re looking to customize a kitchen to meet your home’s particular needs and style, make sure to stop by their display where they will have a large booth showcasing custom kitchens and cabinetry along with home lighting options.

Progressive Cabinets / Living Lighting will be featuring trends that are soft, airy, warm, and inviting. “We’re moving away from dark, more industrial tones as well as modern high gloss to showcase designs that are soft, inviting with earth tones and soft metals and finishes,” says Lauren Bell. “We will be highlighting some of the latest products, trends, and styles, as well as talking to our visitors about the latest in design and technology.”

“Our goal is to create an experience for each person who drops by our booth that will show them what they can come to expect from their time working with us on their project.” “Our kitchen display features the latest in solid surface counter tops, showcasing an extremely durable yet beautiful Dekton. This will be complemented with an array of lighting that is perfectly suited to the space, and options that will meet any taste!” Progressive Cabinets / Living Lighting will also be highlighting some beautiful custom furniture, including a stunning dining table that the company designed and manufactured, along with-beautiful Canadian made dining chairs.
