BEYOND Canberra
On the way to Canberra or on the way home, make sure to check out our regional stops in the following feature pages, as the journey is half the fun.
Just over the north border is the beautiful Yass Valley’s towns and villages, featuring world-renowned Cool Climate wineries. The Yass township is a scenic 30-50 minute drive, depending on your route.
Continuing north on your way to Sydney, just one hour from Canberra, is the historic city of Goulburn. Home to the iconic Big Merino sheep, thriving economy, festivals, businesses and beautiful outdoor attractions Goulburn combines heritage and country charm with all the needs of contemporary cities.

When heading inland West past Young, visit West Wyalong for a taste of countrystyle heritage and the 1800’s Gold Rush.
East of Canberra is the charming village of Braidwood, famous for its heritage buildings, lolly shop and the site for the 1970 film Ned Kelly, featuring Mick Jagger as well as the small historic town of Bungendore with the fantastic Wood Works Gallery, and the coastal town of Batemans Bay for a delicious fish and chips.
All these areas are equipped with charging stations for your electric vehicles, with Telsa Superchargers in Goulburn (Conveniently at the Visitor Centre) and in Cooma (behind Coles) with three Evie High Power Stations at the Snowy Hydro Discovery Centre, two in West Wyalong as well as stations in the Yass township, and NRMA Chargers at the Batemans Bay Regional Art and Aquatic Centre.
