DDI 2020 Summary
- a year in review!
Dear members, Thank you for your continuous support during a turbulent 2020 , a year which has not been easy for most of us. However, as companies are trying to stay afloat and weather the storm created by the pandemic, many are increasingly embracing digital tools and transforming their business processes in order to keep the wheels spinning. At the center of this accelerated digital transformation is the data center. The data center is the lifeblood of the digital economy. Without data centers and telecommunication networks, all vital parts of of the intricate infrastructure which keeps the world online, this worldwide pandemic would have had far bigger consequences. As members of DDI, you all play a crucial part in keeping the digital world up and running, and we commend you for this. This pandemic has shown how important IT infrastructure is to our society, and we are already seeing signs in the global industry, that this sector will continue to grow exponentially in the coming years. As the health and safety of our members has been, and still is, a top priority for DDI, we have had to restructure and move much of our 2020 programme to either online platforms or reschedule physical meetings to 2021. Despite these challenges, it has been an active year for the association, as well as the wider Danish data center industry. As we are already seeing now, 2021 will be an exciting year, as new projects and expansion plans are announced. We look forward to 2021, and hope that we all can soon put this crisis behind us, and reflect back on 2020 and what this year has all taught us, professionally and personally. DDI will continue to push the agenda for sustainable, highly efficient and secure data centers in Denmark in 2021. As a kind reminder, please remember to reach out to us throughout the year, so that we can make sure to support you as best as we can in this industry. Below you will find a summary of the key highlights of 2020. To check out what is in store for 2021, please also view and download our 2021 brochure, if you haven’t already. We look forward to hopefully seeing you in 2021. We wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Stay safe and healthy Best wishes, Henrik Hansen, CEO, Danish Data Center Industry Merima Dzanic, COO, Danish Data Center Industry

April: As a direct response to the Covid-19 pandemic, DDI reissued its calendar for the rest of 2020, which included more webinars and virtual meeting points for the industry. Throughout 2020, we have hosted and participated in 10 virtual webinar discussions. You can view most of the recordings which are available online.
