This book is telling the story of a plant that moved from the deepest jungle to window sills all around the world.
The MONSTERA represents far more than a plant: It symbolizes the exotism of the jungle's untamed wildness as well as the intimite feeling of being home.
A thrilling contrast. And a beautiful plant.

The Monstera is also known as Swiss Cheese Plant, thanks to the holes and splits in its leaves.

The Monstera can be found in Panama and southern Mexico, where the plants climb up the trees to a height of 20 meters. In the forests of Southeast Asia, they also attach themselves to tree trunks, rocks or the soil.

To the Chinese, Monstera is a symbol of long life.

Monstera comes from the Latin word “monstrum”. That means monster and probably relates to the size of its leaves.

A huge Monstera in his studio inspired French artist Henri Matisse to create his famous artwork “La Gerbe”.
