The 78-kilowatt-hour battery yields an official maximum travel distance of approximately 359 kilometres on a full charge, though this figure is optimistic, particularly in the winter with all the gadgets turned on. It’s worth noting that the base Core model doesn’t have a heat pump, so the cabin warming is done us- ing electricity, cutting down on range some. The Volvo XC40 Recharge is sold in three trims — Core, Plus and Ultimate — and starts at an MSRP of $59,950.
