Welcome to the July edition of Darlington Monthly!
The optimism is continuing to flow as the vaccine rollout proceeds. We’re also keeping the feel-good spirit going with a heartwarming story of a 96-year-old North East woman rehoming an elderly dog and encouraging other people to consider doing likewise, as revealed on page 8.
If you’ve put on weight due to working from home, take heart that, with Darlington Borough Council set to expand the town’s cycling and walking infrastructure, many of your post-pandemic commutes could be much kinder to your waistline. The council’s plans are detailed on page 28.
In the here and now, though, you could flick to page 30 – where copywriter Gavin Lenaghan has his say on the film Cruella – or look up what in-person events are about to be held in Darlington, with page 34 providing a tantalising insight.
As normality slowly returns, we will be back, too – with another exciting edition of the magazine in August.
