Welcome to the October edition of Darlington Monthly! We are edging closer to Halloween, but perhaps your best use of a pumpkin this year could be putting it into some delicious pumpkin and bacon soup. The recipe you need for that is on page 28 of your new issue of Darlington Monthly, but we are also serving up many other treats this October. Those include, on page 10, the news that ex-SAS soldier Derek Gamblin is preparing a volcano-to-volcano cycling ride to raise funds for a local mental health charity. We wish luck to both him and Darlington Borough Council, which is lining up intriguing redevelopment plans detailed on page 20. As page 42 reveals, there are also still plenty of (safe) live events happening soon. Have fun, and we will be back again in November!
