1. The M-Pesa Pay by Phone service is interoperable which means, with this service, your business can receive payments from all other mobile network operator customers as well as banks. Vodacom customers will use the merchant payment option while customers from other networks will use the send money to other networks options.

2. This service is completely free for customers and merchants. There is no transaction fees charged to a customer nor the business.

3. The business owner has many options to transfer or settle his funds. She can transfer money from her Lipa till number to the business owner’s mobile wallet, or cash out to M-Pesa agents. She can pay other businesses that have Lipa services and she can transfer the funds to the bank.

Bank settlement has three different options: Free bank transfer - there is a bank settlement option that is completely free provided that the settlement is sent to 3 Vodacom partner banks i.e. CRDB, NBC or NMB (settlement to other banks has a very small TISS charges), real time settlement –there is an option to transfer funds that is real instantly. Auto seep settlement – this is a standing order option where a transfer schedule will be done and funds will transfer themselves full automated once a week/month.
