Easy two-person operation 1. Place the fire blanket on the ground in front or back of the car.
2. Using the straps, pull the fire blanket over the entire car in one continuous movement. 3. Make sure the fire blanket is tight to the ground. Wait at least 20 minutes before removing the fire blanket.
When responding to an electric car fire, follow steps one through three. After the fire blanket is tight to the ground, wait three minutes and listen. If a strong fuzz-type sound is detected about every 3-15 seconds, this is most likely thermal runaway. Leave the fire blanket on until the sound ceases. This is a small fire that travels from cell to cell. The fire blanket will prevent additional fires in the car.
