Singapore continues to provide opportunities for gymnasts to participate at high level competitions. At the Asian 14th Junior Rhythmic Gymnastics Asian Championships held in Tashkent in Apr 2016, we were represented by 3rd-year Juniors Michele Lau & Avryl Tan, who were preparing for SEA Games 2017, and 2nd-year Junior Aiko Tan. Against Asia’s best Juniors, Michele placed 22nd in the All-Around competition and qualified as 1st reserve.

Our close friendship with Azerbaijan Gymnastics Federation led to a fruitful training camp at the RG national training centre in Baku. All SEA Games 2017 squad members, as well as 2nd-year Juniors, attended this camp in Dec 2016. Athletes were privileged to have the help of Azerbaijani national team coaches, dance experts, and sports medicine staff, who worked seamlessly with our coach & officials to facilitate the transfer of knowledge.
