This piece portrays the relationship between a man and a girl as they journey to an unknown destination. What may start off as awkward conversation between a child and familial adult begins to fade as the true identity of the man starts to flicker into the present. As time goes on the conversation becomes more menacing until ultimately the man lifts the veil, revealing his true identity.

Autobahn: Road Trip

This piece depicts a world that has become bland and stripped of color. The artist uses hand drawn images -a colorless landscape- and a cut out of a red car to portray a sense of disruption in a cookie cutter world.

The faint sound of a ticking clock indicates a feeling of anticipation for change in the mundane World.

Darlene Franklin, a Detroit native, is the third of four children. With a musician as a father and A dancing mother, she was bound to be A CREATIVE INDIVIDUAL. She sees art in every situation that she encounters. Some might call her quirky, and she loves it.

Darlene attended the Detroit School of arts where she majored in radio and television. She didn’t feel a pull to leave her city so she decided to attend the University of Detroit Mercy where earned a degree in Digital Media Studies.

Whether it is liturgical dance, writing, singing or designing, she strives to bring life into any project that is presented to her. She continues to make a statement with her unique style of dress, her art, and her creative outlook on life. Darlene lives for her beautiful daughter, Zoe and will work to become the greatest example in her life.
