Welcome to Agrabah, land of wonders and enchantment! It’s been my great pleasure to mentor this cast of young performers - and the team of dedicated and hard working teen directors.
When this process began, we didn’t anticipate 134 young performers would audition! We quickly made a last-minute decision to present not only Aladdin JR, but also Aladdin KIDS, thus giving 94 young performers the opportunity to perform in the productions you will see this weekend. To make it even more impressive, they did it all in just over a month!
Over the years, it’s been a pleasure to watch Zoe, Skylar, Jaslyn, and EJ begin their journey as performers, exploring many different roles on stage and off stage - leading to this, their debut as a MainStage directing team! These four amazing young people have served in these positions for several camp productions - but this is the first Main Stage production they’ve taken full leadership on.
This group of 60 performers in the KIDS cast is a mix of experienced younger performers as well as many brand new to the stage. I’m confident that you will see many of these faces often on our stage as well as other stages at their school and in the local community. The future of theater in Sheboygan is certainly very bright!
If you enjoy what you see today, we invite you to come back and check out a JR cast performance - a completely different 90 minute telling of the tale with brand new songs from the Broadway Musical. Want to join us? Check out our website to become involved, onstage, offstage, in a class or workshop, or as a sponsor or donor.
We hope you will share your experience with your friends and family after the production and look forward to seeing you again soon!
