Kom til KORAL – dansefestival for børn, i det nyåbnede
Dansehallerne, hvor børn på 0-9 år og deres voksne kan opleve tre forskellige danseforestillinger og en eventyrlig koreografisk legeplads. KORAL inviterer ind i et sanseligt, interaktivt og fantasifuldt univers, der skaber magiske stunder for store og små.
Oplev glamrock danseteater for de yngste i ”Rock me Baby”, en fantasirejse i et kæmpe, elastisk net i ”NET” eller dans i tyve, tykke skummadrasser i ”SKUM”. Imellem forestillingerne kan børn og voksne gå på opdagelse og lege i det spændende bevægelseslandsskab “Fra dag til nat”, spise deres madpakker og hygge i Dansehallernes foyer.

I SKUM inviteres du ind på en scene fuld af skummadrasser sammen med to dansere og det øvrige publikum. I løbet af forestillingen bygger vi et landskab, der giver plads til fantasi, sanselighed og fællesskab. Ord, dans og musik skaber en stemning, der intensiverer oplevelsen af din egen krop og verden omkring dig.
Vi ligger i en bunke skum og taler om at ‘synke ned’. Hvad betyder det at synke ned? Vi kan synke ned i en madras, mærke kroppens vægt, overgive os, give slip, få jordforbindelse. Når vi tænker på det modsatte af at synke ned, forestiller vi os at være ovenpå, springe af, flyde op, hoppe, flyve.

Kom og leg i vores sjove og sanselige bevægelseslandskab! I et univers af farverige telte og særlige gulvstrukturer kan børn og voksne udforske fælles bevægelsesglæde med inspiration fra danserne og musikken i rummet.
Dansekunstner Ray Roa Alonso inviterer børn i alderen 0-9 år og deres voksne til at udforske en eventyrlig koreografisk tidsrejse inspireret af sin opvækst i Filippinerne. Her skaber publikum og kunstnere sammen en magisk ramme, hvor bevægelse, erindringer og fantasi smelter sammen. Scenografien, designet af Alexandra Lewon, fungerer både som legerum og scene, der aktivt inddrager både små og store gæster, samt danserne.

I NET for de 5-9-årige og deres voksne breder et stort net sig i rummet. Sammen med tre dansere folder publikum forestillingen ud, og et koreografisk kalejdoskop opstår. Her fortaber vi os i et bølgende landskab af 192 elastiske firkanter, og med dansen som drivkraft åbner de til nye døre, som fantasien kan snige sig ind ad. Til fængende beats og melodiøse loops går vi på opdagelse med hinanden i en æstetisk erfaring.
Som kontrast til tidens tanker om identitet, autonomi og uafhængighed byder NET op til dans ved at give plads til, at alle bliver et led i kæden, en tråd i nettet eller et atom i molekylet. Med undrende nysgerrighed kan vi i nettet se os selv som en del af nye figurer i konstant forandring.

Rock me Baby er en glamrock danse-teaterforestilling for de alleryngste: børn på 0-6 år og deres voksne. En energifyldt forestilling inspireret af 70’ernes og 80’ernes rockæstetik forenes musik, dans og teater i samlet, en farvestrålende oplevelse. Med musik fra pop til hård rock udfordrer forestillingen grænserne for, hvad vi tror, små børn kan opleve. Spektakulære kostumer og et kraftfuldt lydbillede fremført live skaber en visuel og auditiv fest.
Forestillingen udfordrer kønsstereotyper på en legende måde, og den fængende energi gør sammen med musikken Rock me Baby til en oplevelse, der fascinerer børn og voksne.

Dansehallerne er et nationalt center for dans og koreografi, som fokuserer på at præsentere og co-producere danske og internationale produktioner for alle aldre. Dansehallerne er et mødested for det danseinteresserede publikum og de professionelle i branchen. Herfra formidles viden om dansen, og vi diskuterer højt og lavt –introducerende og i dybden.

About KORAL
Join KORAL – dance festival for children, in the newly opened Dansehallerne. Here, children aged 0-9 and their adults can engage with three different dance performances and a magical choreographic playground. KORAL invites you into an interactive, sensuous and imaginative universe that creates magical moments for young and old.
Experience glam rock dance theater for the youngest children in “Rock me Baby”, an adventurous journey in a giant, elastic net in “NET”, or dance in twenty thick foam mattresses in “FOAM”. Between the performances, you can explore the exciting movement landscape “From Day to Night: A Playful Time Journey”.

In FOAM, you are invited onto a stage full of foam mattresses together with two dancers and the rest of the audience. During the performance, we build a landscape that creates a place for imagination, sensation and participation. Words, dance and music create an atmosphere that intensifies the experience of your own body and the world around you.
We lie in a pile of memory foam, talking about ‘sinking in’. What does sinking in mean? There is the possibility of sinking into a mattress, feeling the weight of the body, surrendering, letting go, grounding. Wondering about the opposite of sinking in, we imagine being on the surface, bouncing off, floating up, jumping, flying.

Come and play in our fun and sensuous movement landscape! In a universe of colourful tents and special floor structures, children and adults can explore the shared joy of movement with inspiration from the dancers and the music in the room.
Dance artist Ray Roa Alonso invites children aged 0-9 and their grown-ups to explore an adventurous choreographic time journey inspired by his upbringing in the Philippines. Here, the audience and artists create a magical setting together where movement, sound, memories and imagination merge. The scenography, designed by Alexandra Lewon, functions as both a playground and a stage that actively involves both the young and older guests, as well as the dancers.

In NET for children 5 – 9 years and their grown-ups, a large net spreads out into the space. Together with three dancers, the audience unfolds the performance, and a choreographic kaleidoscope emerges. Here we lose ourselves in an undulating landscape of 192 elastic squares, and with dance as the driving force, they open new doors through which the imagination can sneak in. Accompanied by catchy beats and melodious loops, we explore with each other in an aesthetic experience.
In contrast to contemporary ideas about identity, autonomy and independence, NET offers dance by giving space for everyone to become a link in the chain, a thread in the web, or an atom in the molecule. With wondering curiosity, we can see ourselves in the web as part of new figures in constant change.

Rock me Baby is a glam rock dance theatre concert for the very young ones: children aged 0-6, and their grown-ups. An energetic performance inspired by the rock aesthetics of the 70s and 80s, music, dance and theatre unite in a bright an colourful experience. With music from pop to hard rock, the performance challenges the limits of what we think young children can grasp. Spectacular costumes and a powerful soundscape performed live create a visual and auditory celebration.
The performance challenges gender stereotypes in a playful way, and the catchy energy together with the music makes Rock me Baby an experience that fascinates children and adults.
