With our workshop, we exemplify through music the elements that generate the award-winning harmony among musicians and the conductor, as well as the resonant impact on the audience.

The communication from the conductor’s podium is mirrored to the management corridor and demonstrates how each individual musician contributes and influences the team. At the same time, we create, with reference to the music, a common catalog of words and concepts that can be used to strengthen collaboration in the organization.

At VL Døgnet 2023 (annual event for business leaders), we hosted a talk with Andreas Vetö, who conducted a string quartet from the Danish Chamber Orchestra. It made a significant impact on our members – clarifying how effective leadership benefits both the individual and the team. We received numerous positive responses regarding the talk. The audience experienced the similarities between conducting an orchestra and managing tasks within a corporation. The use of music to exemplify leadership inspired deep reflection. At the same time, the aesthetic musical experience provided the audience with a Eureka moment, precisely revealing the strength of music.

As inspiration for our management team, we invited Andreas Vetö to speak about leadership from the conductor’s perspective. EVENT BASED

▶ 60-90 minutes with Andreas Vetö and a string quartet that draw the parallels between the conductor’s role vs. the role of the manager. Introduction to the conducting profession and demonstration of musical leadership.

▶ Talk on the Danish Chamber Orchestra entrepreneurial history as well as other relevant societal topics – the performance culture, mental health, positioning of culture in Denmark

MANAGEMENT PROGRAM

▶ MODULE 1: 45-60 minutes with Andreas Vetö and a string quartet that draw the parallels between the conductor’s role vs. the role of the manager. Introduction to the conducting profession and demonstration of musical leadership.

▶ MODULE 2: 45-60 minutes with reflection from module 1, summary and selected participants will experience firsthand the art of conducting.

▶ MODULE 3: 45-60 minutes in the concert hall, where the participants follow the art of conducting and finish off by stepping up to the podium themselves.

Musical events

In addition to ongoing concerts within the classical repertoire and nationwide pop/rock concerts with well-known Danish bands and artists, we deliver music for the company’s events – as follows:

▶ Musicians at conferences and events - possibly featuring well-known Danish artists and bands.

▶ String quartet that creates atmosphere at customer events, receptions, in the lunch area or foyer area.

▶ Exclusive concerts or events - with or without an artist.

▶ The exclusive concert could serve as an additional show in continuation of the concert tour.

Andreas Vetö has a degree in musical leadership from the Royal Danish Academy of Music and since 2017 been CEO of The Danish Chamber Orchestra

Andreas is a visionary culture and orchestra leader who is passionate about in the philosophical field of management. With his musical mindset, he has a particular focus on how company management and the company’s employees can be inspired by the both the conductor’s leadership and also the interaction between the musicians in an orchestra.

He is a notable voice in the public cultural debate, where he expresses himself on topics such as cultivation, music education and cultural heritage, just as he conveys the need for a national strategy for the intersection between the cultural and social sectors

The Danish Chamber Orchestra

has existed as the country’s only musician-owned orchestra since 2015. Ours roots stretch back more than 80 years to the foundation in 1939. The Danish Chamber Orchestra is a cultural institution that harnesses the transformative power of music. The orchestra brings the music to the audience so as many people as possible can benefit from it. Through music, we enrich both the individual and the entire society in a variety of ways. Naturally, by entertaining and bringing joy, but also by contributing to some of the societal challenges addressed by the Sustainable Development Goals
