Dania Pointe continues to expand with the construction of the Spirit/JetBlue headquarters, training facility, employee housing and parking garage. Also under construction is Avery II, an 8-story, 336 unit residential building. Recently opened in Dania Pointe is Regal Cinemas that showcases 16 auditoriums with multiple screens featuring new release films in 4DX, RPX Screen X & VIP. This movie theater delivers an immersive multi-sensory cinematic experience.

ART IN PUBLIC PLACES

Public Art provides opportunities to engage communities and bring vibrancy to both public and private developments. It is a powerful tool and partner for artistic self-expression, community dialogue and celebration of place.

The City of Dania Beach has initiated its Public Art Advisory Board which meets on the third Monday of every month in the Northwest Conference room at City Hall.

The city is moving forward with plans to redevelop a city-owned waterfront restaurant, the old Dania Beach Grill. The city commission has approved the redevelopment of the property as an entertainment complex called Lucky Fish that includes an outdoor tiki building with a covered band stage and event lawn. The new Lucky Fish complex in Dania Beach will have a total occupancy of 213 patrons. The construction for this project is anticipated to take approximately nine months to complete once the final permits are issued. Additional developments around the city are illustrated below.

It is my honor to serve the citizens of Dania Beach as your mayor, and it is my pleasure to present the 2022 State of the City Address. This is an amazing opportunity to bring together the commission, city leaders, residents, businesses, and the city team to learn about the Renaissance we are experiencing here in Dania Beach. We will look back at the city’s major accomplishments over the past few years and look forward to how the city is planning for the future.

DANIA BEACH CRA The CRA negotiated the relocation of the world-renowned Rob Stern Art Glass Studio from Wynwood (Miami) to the Dania Beach Arts & Entertainment District.

The CRA obtained $1,000.000 in Broward County Redevelopment Grant Funds for the Soleste Cityline Project, a market-rate housing project in downtown Dania Beach.

The CRA has secured the FIU IP2Mkt Hospitality Technology Incubator, a first-of-its-kind US Dept. of Energy Incubator focused on developing women-, minority- and Hispanic-owned businesses.

Dania After Dark and the award-winning Arts and Seafood Celebration were restarted and continue the tradition of being cherished family events for the city.

The CRA initiated the Dania Beach Business Academy, a program designed to provide free, online expert information to businesses and residents on subjects such as “How to Start a Business” and “First-Time Homebuyer”.

The DBCRA PATCH received the 2022 Smart Growth Excellence Award for successfully using the principles to preserve and enhance the quality of life while helping to protect public health and the environment.

The CRA At Home Dania Beach Residential Revitalization Program performed painting and landscaping for 45 homes in the CRA. The Program focuses on housing where owners have maintenance challenges due to age or income.
