SEASON OF HEARTS From top to toe, as always at Christmas, The White Lady will exude the warmest of holiday spirit and cheer, and according to tradition, be decorated in true d’Angleterre festive style.

Our menus will abound with the season’s best produce and other Christmas treats.

The Snow Queen’s white gløgg will be served at our cozy, heated terrace and in Wine Room in Marchal’s beautiful surroundings.

This has been the case at d’Angleterre for decades - and hopefully it will be for many more, but we will have to wait another year for the joy of experiencing Kongens Nytorv and the buzz of life and sweet expectations on a dark afternoon in November, when we can reveal the next spectacular Christmas façade to the tunes of The Royal Life Guards Music Band’s winter ensemble.

But the d’Angleterre Christmas spirit will still reach far beyond the walls of the hotel and into the hearts of Copenhageners as they pass by. And we mean that literally: This winter we open MAISON d’Angleterre on the corner of Strøget and Kongens Nytorv, where you will find wonderful delicacies, a sweet or bubbly hostess gift and the very best of Christmas sweets - and from MAISON’s serving trolley, Copenhageners and the city’s guests will be kept warm at heart with gløgg and Danish æbleskiver directly from Marchal’s kitchen.

CHRISTMAS CALENDAR Christmas is the time of the year for giving and we will be opening a door in our beautiful and bubbly Christmas calendar every day from December 1 to 24.

CHAMPAGNE GLØGG COCKTAIL Our stunning Champagne Gløgg Cocktail is one of our proudest Christmas traditions.

Every year around this time our bartenders work their magic with homemade pepper nut foam, d’Angleterre’s white gløgg, and of course, Champagne. The result is a sweet and spicy cocktail that has the aroma and tastes of Christmas magic.

SNOW QUEEN’S WHITE GLØGG In November 1999, d’Angleterre unveiled a Christmas façade that would go down in the history books: a magnificent and sparkling winter landscape on d’Angleterre’s large balcony, featuring H.C. Andersen’s beautiful, white-clad Snow Queen riding through the icy air in her magical sleigh pulled by white unicorns.

The façade attracted attention throughout the city - and far beyond its boundaries, but it was also an inspiration for the hotel’s chef. That winter, he created The Snow Queen’s white gløgg, which later became a Christmas classic for hotel guests during the winter months.
